Today, I wanted to play around with Gallade in Pokemon Go. I caught a male Kirlia and I had enough candies and a Sinnoh Stone, so I went ahead and evolved it. I’ve been playing this game for a while, so I’ve got a pretty good stash of items.
So, Gallade. This guy is a Psychic and Fighting-type Pokemon. When I was looking at its moves, it seemed like it could learn a few different ones. I wanted to figure out the best combo for maximum damage.

- First, I checked out the quick moves. Confusion stood out because it’s a strong Psychic move and it fills up the energy meter pretty fast.
- Then, for the charged moves, it looked like Gallade could learn Psychic, Leaf Blade, Close Combat, and Synchronoise. That’s a mix of Psychic, Grass, and Fighting moves. I decided to go with Psychic since it matches Gallade’s type and gets a damage boost.
After a bit of experimenting, I settled on Confusion as the quick move and Psychic as the charged move. This seemed like the best combo to maximize the damage output. Some folks online were saying this setup gives you around 14.82 DPS and a total damage output of 235.3, which sounds pretty good to me.
Of course, I had to test it out in battles. I went up against some other trainers’ Pokemon, and honestly, this moveset felt pretty powerful. Confusion was hitting hard and charging up Psychic quickly. When I unleashed Psychic, it did a ton of damage. It definitely felt like I was getting the most out of Gallade.
I also did a bit of reading about the best Pokemon to use against Gallade. The top recommendations were Mega Rayquaza, Shadow Rayquaza, Necrozma – Dawn Wings, Mega Gengar, Rayquaza, and Shadow Salamence. I haven’t tried all of these yet, but it’s good to know what to look out for.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with this Confusion and Psychic combo for Gallade. It feels like a solid choice for battles, and it’s been fun trying it out. I’m always looking to optimize my Pokemon, so this was a good little experiment.
