Okay, so, I’ve been playing a ton of Animal Crossing: New Horizons lately, and I finally got my hands on the “Wild Painting Right Half.” I was so excited, I immediately started checking how to get the art.
First, I went to visit Redd on his shady boat, Jolly Redd’s Treasure Trawler. He had a bunch of art, some real, some fake – it’s always a gamble with that fox. Anyway, I looked around, squinted at the paintings in the dim light. He did not have it. I heard that the difference between real and fake can sometimes be hard to spot, but he did not have the painting that day.

I tried a few more times with no luck. So, I went to Harv’s Island, hoping Redd’s Co-Op there might have it. I spent like 4 Bells, hoping for a good deal. I checked the right side, then the left side… and boom! There it was, the real deal.
What’s so special about this painting?
Well, it’s based on this famous Japanese artwork of the wind god Fujin. I learned that it’s from the Rinpa school of painting, which is pretty cool. The real one has Fujin in white.
- Visit Redd: I kept checking Redd’s boat whenever he showed up.
- Harv’s Island: Finally found it at Redd’s Co-Op on Harv’s Island.
- Look for White: In the real painting, Fujin is white, not green.
It was a bit of a grind, but I finally got it! Now my museum’s art collection is looking a bit more complete. I just kept at it, and it paid off. Good luck to anyone else trying to snag this one! It took me a while, but it was worth it to finally see it hanging in my museum.
