Alright, so I wanted to share this little project I’ve been working on – a countdown timer for the release of Mortal Kombat 1. Yeah, I’m pretty hyped about it, can’t wait to get my hands on the game.
First thing’s first, I did a bit of digging around to find out when this game is actually coming out. Turns out, there are different release dates depending on which version you snag. For the folks who grabbed the Premium or Kollector’s Edition, there’s this early access thing starting a bit before the official release. But the main date I focused on was September 24th at 8 a.m. PDT. That’s the time the game goes live for everyone digitally.

Now, I’m not really a coder or anything, but I wanted a visual way to track the time left until the release. So I started looking up some online countdown tools. There are a bunch of them out there, and I just picked one that looked simple enough to use.
I entered the release date and time into the tool, and boom, it generated this neat little timer. It shows the days, hours, minutes, and even seconds ticking down. It’s kind of cool to see it in real time, makes the wait a bit more bearable, you know?
But I didn’t stop there. I also started following some Mortal Kombat 1 streamers on Twitch. These guys sometimes get early access or share some sneak peeks, which is awesome. Plus, it’s fun to be part of a community that’s just as excited about the game as I am.
I also heard that IGN will be doing live updates during the release. I made a mental note to check their site when the time comes. It might be interesting to see what’s happening in real-time as the game unlocks.
- Set up the countdown: Used an online tool to create a countdown timer based on the release date and time I found.
- Followed streamers: Started watching some Mortal Kombat 1 streams on Twitch to get more info and be part of the community.
- Planned for release day: Made a note to follow IGN’s live updates when the game launches.
So yeah, that’s pretty much it. It’s not a huge project or anything, but it’s been a fun way for me to keep track of the time and get even more pumped for Mortal Kombat 1. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go watch that timer tick down some more.
