Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another life hack! Today, I’m gonna share my little adventure on how I got my hands on some sweet bamboo grass in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. So, buckle up, and let’s get into it!
First things first, I really wanted that aesthetic bamboo grass for my island. I heard it was a seasonal thing, so I did some digging. Turns out, you can snag it during the Tanabata event. Mark your calendars, folks, that’s July 1st to July 31st.
So, I waited for July like a kid waiting for Christmas. When the day finally arrived, I fired up my Switch, opened the game, and headed straight to the Nook Shopping section on my NookPhone. And there it was! Bamboo grass, just sitting there, waiting to be bought.
I bought it, obviously. It wasn’t expensive at all, just a few bells. And let me tell you, placing it on my island made all the difference. It’s like my island got a little zen garden upgrade. I started to put them everywhere like I was some kind of virtual landscaper.
But then, I got curious. Can I grow more of these myself? I did some research and found out that if your island was created before May 31st in the northern hemisphere, or November 30th in the southern hemisphere, you are in luck! But here’s the tricky part: I learned that you can’t get to the spring bamboo island with Kapp’n until after those dates.
I also found out that you gotta plant bamboo seeds to get bamboo shoots. I got my hands on some seeds, planted them, and waited. And guess what? It worked! I had my own little bamboo farm going on.
Here’s a little tip: bamboo shoots only pop up once per stalk set. So, keep that in mind if you’re planning to be a bamboo tycoon. Also, make sure you’ve got Daisy Mae unlocked on your island; she is your best friend for any turnips investment, which can bring you more bells to buy anything you need.
