Okay, so today I wanna talk about this Dragonite V Star card, and if it’s worth anything. I’ve been collecting Pokemon cards for a while now, and I recently pulled this one from a pack. At first, I was pretty stoked, I mean, it’s a Dragonite, and it’s a V Star, seems pretty cool right?
I started by checking it out to see what I had. Turns out, Dragonite VSTAR cards come in a couple of different sets. The one I pulled was from the 2022 Sword & Shield: Black Star Promo set. Its number is #SWSH236, specifically for the Pokemon GO expansion. I heard that some of these cards can be worth a bit, especially if they are vintage. However, I also found some comments saying that the Dragonite V has seen a big jump in price due to the hype around Alternate Arts from the Sword & Shield era.

Getting into the Details
Then I started to do some actual digging for prices. I saw that the average value of a Dragonite V Star is about $7.73. That is not much, but it is something. I found listings on some marketplaces with a wide price range, from as low as $0.99 to as high as $55.00. But most of those were higher-end, graded cards or something, not like the raw one I had just pulled.
- Checked Card Condition: First thing I did was check the condition of my card. It was fresh out of the pack, so it was in mint condition. No bends, scratches, or anything like that.
- Looked Up Recent Sales: I went to a few different websites that track card prices and saw what Dragonite V Stars had been selling for recently. Most of the sales were around that $7-8 mark, which lined up with the average.
- Considered Grading: I thought about getting the card graded. A graded card can be worth more, but it also costs money to get it graded. I decided to hold off on that for now, figured it was not worth the extra cost.
My Conclusion
So, is a Dragonite V Star worth anything? Well, yeah, it is worth something. Probably not going to make you rich, but it is a decent card to have. If you have one in good condition, it might be worth selling or trading. But do not expect to retire off it. For me, I am just gonna hold onto it for now. It is a cool card, and who knows, maybe the price will go up in the future. Besides, it has some strong attacks and abilities, so it might even be fun to play with in the actual game. It has access to Superpower, which is a huge draw compared to other Dragon-type Pokemon.
This was a fun little investigation, and a good reminder that not every rare card is gonna be worth a fortune. But hey, that is part of the fun of collecting, right?
