Alright, let’s talk about this Galarian Slowpoke thing in Pokémon GO. It’s been a bit of a journey, to say the least. I mean, catching this specific version of Slowpoke isn’t like your everyday Pokémon hunt. It’s more of a special occasion.
So, first off, I learned that you can’t just find Galarian Slowpoke chilling in the wild like a regular Pidgey or something. Nope, this one’s a bit more exclusive. I found out that the main way to encounter it is by using this thing called Daily Adventure Incense. I started popping one of those each day, it’s supposed to attract rare Pokémon, and Galarian Slowpoke is apparently one of them.

I spent a few days, just walking around my neighborhood, using the Daily Adventure Incense. To be honest, I was mostly catching the usual stuff. But then, bam! There it was, a Galarian Slowpoke. It was a pretty cool moment, not gonna lie. I tossed a few balls, and finally got it.
But here’s another thing I discovered, there are other ways to get it too. Like, 7km Eggs. I’ve been hatching a bunch of those, and while I haven’t gotten a Galarian Slowpoke from them yet, it’s apparently a possibility. And then there are Raid Battles. I’ve seen Galarian Slowpoke pop up in those a few times. I joined a couple, and let me tell you, the battles were intense. Luckily there were also a couple of high-level players there, and they did most of the job for us. They used some powerful Pokémon like Mega Gengar and Shadow Gengar, which seemed super effective. I used Mega Banette and Shadow Absol, and finally I got mine!
Then, get this – evolving it is another whole adventure. There’s not just one, but two different ways to evolve it, into Galarian Slowbro or Slowking. Each one needs you to catch a bunch of Poison-type Pokémon while Galarian Slowpoke is your buddy. So, I’ve been walking around with it, catching every Grimer and Zubat I see. I was so excited to finally get enough Poison-types to evolve mine into a Slowbro. But I still need more for the Slowking, so that’s the next goal.
Here’s a quick rundown of what I did:
- Daily Incense: Used it every day to try and attract a Galarian Slowpoke.
- Egg Hatching: Keep hatching those 7km Eggs, hoping for a surprise.
- Raid Battles: Joined raids when Galarian Slowpoke was featured.
- Buddy Up: Made Galarian Slowpoke my buddy for the evolution quest.
- Catch Poison-types: Stocked up on Poison-type Pokémon to evolve it into Galarian Slowbro and Slowking.
Honestly, it’s been a fun little side quest in my Pokémon GO routine. It’s not just about catching ’em all, but also the little challenges and different ways to get specific Pokémon. If you’re playing Pokémon GO and haven’t gotten into the Galarian Slowpoke hunt yet, I’d say give it a shot. It’s a nice change of pace from the usual grind!
