Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with MLB The Show 24 lately, and let me tell you, hitting is a whole different beast this year. I hopped online, played a few games, and quickly realized I needed to change something up. My usual settings just weren’t cutting it.
So, I started digging around. First off, I started with the different camera angles. You’ve got your standard ones, and some fancy new ones too. I tried a bunch, you know, just swinging away, seeing what felt right. I found “Wide” and “Strike Zone 3” are what most people are using.

Honestly, I fiddled with a bunch of views, but “Strike Zone 3” started feeling pretty good. It’s like, close enough to really see the ball, but not so zoomed in that you lose track of everything else.
After messing with the views, I started looking at the hitting interface, and I tested several different ones too. This is where it gets a little more into personal preference, I think. There’s “Directional” and “Zone”.
- Directional: It is pretty straightforward. You just aim in a direction and swing.
- Zone: It gives you more control over where you’re swinging.
I initially used Directional but quickly switched to Zone. I needed that extra bit of control to really place my hits.
So, after all that experimenting, here’s what I’ve settled on:
- Hitting View: Strike Zone 3
- Hitting Interface: Zone
Why These Settings Worked for Me
With these settings, I feel like I can actually see the pitch better and react in time. Plus, being able to control the PCI with Zone hitting gives me a fighting chance against those nasty curveballs. It is much easier for me to make contact in MLB The Show 24 with this setting. But to be honest, it still needs some time to get used to it.
Anyway, that’s my hitting setup for MLB The Show 24 right now. It’s definitely a work in progress, but I’m feeling a lot more confident at the plate. Give these settings a try and see if they work for you. Let me know what you think, and if you’ve got any other tips, I’m all ears!
