I was messing around with Pokémon Go the other day, and it got me thinking about Mewtwo. This Pokémon is seriously powerful, right? I started wondering just how high its CP could go. So, I did a little digging and some experimenting of my own.
First, I found out that a regular Mewtwo can hit a max CP of 4,178. Pretty good, huh? But then, I discovered there’s a Shadow version of Mewtwo, and that thing is a beast! Its CP can go all the way up to 4,724. That’s just insane!

I was curious to see how high I could get my own Mewtwo’s CP. I spent a bunch of time powering it up, using all my Stardust and Candies. It took a while, but I eventually got it pretty close to the max. I was pretty happy with that.
- Caught a bunch of Mewtwo: I joined a bunch of raids to catch as many Mewtwo as possible to get the ones with high IVs.
- Boosted CP: I fed my Mewtwo Stardust and Candies to increase its CP. It took a lot of resources, but it was worth it.
- Checked the numbers: I saw that Mewtwo’s max CP is 4,178, but the Shadow Mewtwo’s is even higher, at 4,724! I also checked the highest possible CP in the game, and it’s a whopping 6,672!
Then, I started reading about Mega Evolutions. Apparently, Mewtwo has two Mega forms, and they make it even stronger. I haven’t gotten a Mega Mewtwo yet, but it’s definitely something I’m aiming for now. I learned that Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y are some of the strongest Pokémon in the game. Just thinking about how much stronger they are compared to the regular Mewtwo is exciting.
I also stumbled upon some info about an Armored Mewtwo. It turns out the only way to get one is through a Special Trade. I’ve never done one of those, but it sounds kind of complicated. And expensive, too, since it’s considered a Legendary or Event Pokemon. I’m not sure if I’m ready to give up that much Stardust just yet. But, I guess it’s something to keep in mind for the future.
My Experience
This whole thing was a pretty fun experiment. Getting that Shadow Mewtwo and powering it up was a real grind, but seeing that high CP was totally worth it. Plus, it made me realize how much more there is to learn about this game. I’m really excited to try and get those Mega Evolutions and see just how powerful Mewtwo can truly become.
It’s crazy to think about all the different variations of a single Pokémon, and how much their stats can vary. I’m definitely going to keep playing and see what other awesome Pokémon I can find and power up. Who knows, maybe I’ll even find something that can beat that Shadow Mewtwo’s CP someday! Probably not, but it’s fun to dream, right?
