Okay, so, today I want to talk about something I got into recently – making a custom FIFA 23 card for Erling Haaland. You know, the football player? Yeah, that guy. He’s a beast on the field, and I thought it would be fun to see what kind of stats he’d get on a souped-up card.
First off, I did some digging around. Apparently, there are already a few Haaland cards out there. One of them, a “Rare” card, puts him at an 88 rating. Another one, called an “Award Winner” card, bumps him all the way up to 97. Dude’s a monster! I also found out he’s super tall, like 6’5″ or something. Not that I didn’t know that already, it’s pretty obvious when you watch him play. He can jump!
Anyway, I wanted to make my own card, so I started messing around with these online tools. There’s a couple of sites, where you can basically create your own Ultimate Team squad and player cards.
- Started with the basics: I picked Haaland’s position, which is a striker, of course. Then his nationality – Norwegian, just like the real deal. And his team, Manchester City. They didn’t mention any other teams, so I figured that’s where he’s at right now.
- Figuring out the stats: This was the fun part. I looked at his existing cards and his real-life performance to get an idea. For pace, I went high, like in the 90s. He’s crazy fast, so that made sense. Shooting, also super high. Defending, well, he’s a striker, so not too much there. I boosted his physical stats, because the guy is strong as an ox.
- Putting it all together: Once I had all the stats, I slapped them onto the card template. It was pretty cool to see it all come together. I even added a picture of Haaland celebrating a goal. Makes it look more official, you know?
It was a pretty fun little project. It gave me a new appreciation for Haaland’s skills and how they translate into the game. It’s crazy to think about how these stats reflect real-life abilities. And it was cool to create something myself, even if it’s just a digital card.
I mean, this was just for fun, and I don’t know anything about professional card designing. But hey, if you are looking for a fun way to kill some time and you are into FIFA, give it a try!
