Today, I tried to sort out the card list for March of the Machines, and let me tell you, it was quite a task! I’ve been collecting these cards for a while now, and this set is pretty massive.
First, I started by laying out all the cards I had from this set. I was mainly focusing on the regular cards, not those fancy showcase ones just yet. There are supposed to be 281 of these regular cards. I counted mine and realized I was still missing a few. I found I have a good chunk of them, including 110 commons, 75 uncommons, and 50 rares. I’m a bit short on the mythic rares, I only have 15 of those.

- Commons: 110
- Uncommons: 75
- Rares: 50
- Mythic Rares: 15
After organizing the regular cards, I moved on to the special ones. I learned that the Phyrexian Full Art basic lands are numbered from 282 to 291, so I checked those out. I have a few of them, but not all. I don’t have any of the other showcase cards yet. I think they might be numbered 292-319, according to what I read, so that’s a lot to look for.
Then there’s this “The List” thing I read about. Apparently, you can tell if a card is on it by checking for a little Planeswalker logo in the bottom left corner. I found some cards with the logo, but it’s not very clear what that means for collecting. It’s something I’ll need to look into more.
I also found out about these super rare serialized Multiverse Legends cards and serialized versions of the Praetors. They say only 1% of Collector Boosters have them, so it’s a real challenge to find these. I haven’t found any yet, but it’s exciting to think about.
The Aftermath
And then there’s “March of the Machine: The Aftermath.” This is a smaller set with 50 cards. I’ve only just started collecting these. I’ve got a few uncommons and rares, but no mythic rares yet. Also, every card in this set has a special “Booster Fun” version, which sounds pretty cool. I’m eager to see what those look like.
I spent a lot of time today just sorting and reading about these cards. It was a bit tiring, but fun. I’m still figuring out the best way to find the prices for these cards, too. Some places online have price lists, but it’s hard to keep up. It seems that I could find the prices of Sheoldred, Urabrask, Etali, Primal Conqueror, Tribute to the World Tree, Invasion of Ikoria, Sunfall with extended art.
Anyway, that’s what I did today with my March of the Machines cards. It’s a big project, but I’m learning a lot. I hope this helps anyone else who’s trying to get into this. It’s a bit of a mess, but it’s fun to get it all organized!
