Okay, so let’s talk about this “unable to connect to server” message I kept getting in League of Legends. It was driving me nuts! I just wanted to play a few games, you know? But nope, the game wouldn’t let me in.
First, I checked my internet connection. I mean, that’s the obvious first step, right? Everything seemed fine there. I opened my browser, browsed a few pages to ensure it was stable. Websites loaded fine, videos played smoothly, so my internet wasn’t the problem.

Next, I restarted my computer. You know the drill, the classic “turn it off and on again” trick. I waited a few minutes for it to boot back up, launched the game, still no luck. The same annoying message popped up.
Then, I checked my network settings to make sure everything was okay. It was still good and I didn’t see any issues there. I even tried to play the game again. Still nothing changed.
I thought maybe it was my router acting up. So, I unplugged it, waited for a minute, and plugged it back in. Still nothing. I was starting to get really annoyed at this point.
Since simple fixes didn’t work, I decided to check my router settings. I logged in to my router through the browser and started poking around. I made sure that the ports required by the game were opened. No luck, still same problem.
After that, I made sure my computer’s software was up to date. I checked for Windows updates and made sure my graphics drivers were current. Still, League of Legends refused to connect.
Finally, I found out that I had to change my DNS to a public DNS like Google Public DNS. I changed my settings and rebooted my computer. Then I launched the game and guess what? It finally worked! I was so relieved.
So yeah, that’s how I finally fixed the “unable to connect to server” issue in League of Legends. It was a bit of a process, but I got there in the end. Hopefully, this helps someone else out there who’s pulling their hair out over this problem!
