Alright, folks, let’s talk about Slowking in Pokemon GO. I’ve been messing around with this regal-looking fella, trying to figure out the best way to use him in battles. It’s been a bit of a journey, so I figured I’d share my findings with y’all.
First off, I started by just catching a bunch of Slowpokes. It took a while, but I finally had enough candies to evolve one into a Slowking. Then came the fun part – experimenting with different movesets.
Trying Out Attacks
Slowking’s got a few options when it comes to attacks. For Fast Attacks, you’ve got Confusion, and well that is all. For Charge Attacks, I started with Psychic, cause, you know, it’s a Psychic-type Pokemon. It felt pretty solid, dealing some decent damage. Then I tried Blizzard, thinking it might be good against Dragon-types. It was okay, but nothing to write home about.
- Confusion:This is Slowking only Fast Attack so you will have to use it.
- Psychic: This attack feels pretty good in battles, and it matches Slowking’s type.
- Blizzard: I thought this would be great against dragons, but it wasn’t as effective as I hoped.
- Fire Blast: Totally not worth it. I didn’t even bother using it much.
- Scald: This is a decent Water-type attack. It is not bad.
- Surf: Basically the same as Scald.
- Future Sight: This one hits hard, especially for Galarian Slowking.
Fire Blast was just… no. Didn’t really see the point of it on Slowking. Scald and Surf are some Water-type moves, which were interesting, but still, Psychic felt like the way to go. For Galarian Slowking, I found that Future Sight hits really hard, so that became my go-to for that variant.
Battling It Out
I took my Slowking to a bunch of Gym battles and tried him out against different types. He did pretty well against Fighting and Poison types, which makes sense. He also tanked hits like a champ against other Psychic types.
In the GO Battle League, it was a bit more of a mixed bag. Slowking can hold his own, but he’s not exactly a top-tier meta Pokemon. Still, it was fun to surprise people with him. The Chilly Reception was kinda funny to use, not really that useful though, but hey, it’s a signature move.
The Verdict
After all this experimenting, I’ve come to the conclusion that the best moveset for regular Slowking is Confusion and Psychic. It just feels the most consistent and powerful. For Galarian Slowking, I’d say go with Confusion and Future Sight. That combo packs a serious punch.
So, there you have it. That’s my experience with Slowking in Pokemon GO. He’s a fun Pokemon to use, even if he’s not the strongest out there. Hope this helps some of you trainers out there!
