Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this whole “City Connect” thing for the Astros, and let me tell you, it’s been a ride.
First off, I saw this post online, some cryptic thing about the Astros teasing new City Connect jerseys. It got me curious. I started digging around, trying to see what the deal was. Turns out, these City Connect things are a big deal. It’s like a whole new look for the teams, supposed to be tied to the city and all that.
I found out that the Astros’ City Connect look was all about space, which makes sense, right? Houston, we have a problem and all that. They call it the “Space City” design. I spent a good chunk of time looking at pictures, reading what people were saying about it. Some people loved it, some people hated it. Pretty standard for the internet, I guess.

Digging into the Design: I started looking at the design itself. The colors, the font, the whole vibe. It’s definitely different from their regular uniforms. This navy blue, with the “Space City” in that orange, NASA-style font. It’s bold, I’ll give them that. There is rainbow piping throughout the uniform. They even have these rainbow gradient socks. I am not sure if I like the look of this uniform or not.

Checking Out the Gear: I went down a rabbit hole looking at all the gear. Hats, jerseys, the whole nine yards. I spent hours just browsing, comparing prices, reading reviews. I don’t know why, but I got really into it.

Wearing the Uniforms for the Last Time: I found out that the Astros are going to retire these Space City uniforms at the end of the 2024 season. And they will wear these uniforms for the final time on Monday night’s game. I really had a strong feeling about the uniforms after reading this. It’s kind of sad, you know? Like the end of an era, even though I’m not even an Astros fan.

Getting a New Uniform in 2025: The team announced that they would get a new Nike City Connect uniform in 2025. This made me even more excited. What will the new uniform look like? Will it still have a space theme, or will they go in a completely different direction? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. And I found out that the Red Sox will also be getting a City Connect 2.0 uniform in 2025.

Anyway, that’s my little adventure with the Astros’ City Connect stuff. It’s funny how you can start with one little thing and end up spending hours on it. The internet is a wild place, man.
