Alright, so I’ve been having this annoying issue with MLB The Show. Every time I try to hop online and play, I keep getting hit with this “network error” message. It’s been driving me nuts, so I decided to do something about it.
First, I made sure my console was actually connected to the internet. I mean, that’s the obvious first step, right? My internet was working fine, I checked my other devices, everything was fine. So, it wasn’t a problem on my end.

Then, I tried the classic “turn it off and on again” method. I closed the game completely. On my Xbox, I went to the home screen, pressed the button with the three lines on the MLB The Show tile, and selected “Quit”. Then, I restarted the game. This actually worked a few times, but the error kept coming back. It was like a temporary fix, not a real solution.
Next, I thought maybe it was my account. So, I logged out of my profile and then logged back in. I had heard that sometimes that forces the game to reconnect or something. Didn’t work. Still got the error.
I even tried running a network test directly on my console. I wanted to make sure there wasn’t some hidden issue with my connection that I wasn’t seeing. Everything came back green, no problems detected. This was getting frustrating!
After a few hours of trying different things, I finally found a tip online about going to your profile icon in the game. I navigated to the top of the screen where my profile icon was, then I selected my icon. I still didn’t found a fix. The problem still kept happening.
So, yeah, I’m still dealing with this network error in MLB The Show. It’s super annoying, especially when you just want to relax and play a few games.
- Tried restarting the game.
- Checked my internet connection.
- Logged out and back into my account.
- Ran a network test on my console.
- Navigated to the profile icon and selected it.
None of these steps fixed the problem. Hopefully, the developer will release a patch or something soon. It seems like I’m not the only one having this issue, so fingers crossed they’re working on it!
