Alright, so today I’m diving into Pokemon Go again, and this time, it’s all about Gardevoir. I’ve been trying to figure out the best moveset for this Psychic and Fairy-type Pokemon because, let’s face it, having a killer Gardevoir on your team can really up your game. So, I spent a good chunk of my day experimenting with different moves and seeing what works best in battles.
First off, I started by looking at Gardevoir’s stats and what types it’s weak against. Turns out, it’s not a fan of Steel, Ghost, or Poison types. Keeping that in mind, I knew I needed moves that could either deal a ton of damage or cover these weaknesses.

I tested out a bunch of Fast Moves, but “Confusion” really stood out. It’s a Psychic-type move, and it gets that sweet Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB) since Gardevoir is also a Psychic type. Trust me, the damage from Confusion is no joke. It hits hard and fast, which is exactly what you want from a Fast Move.
Next up, I played around with the Charged Moves. Gardevoir has quite a few options here, like “Shadow Ball,” “Dazzling Gleam,” “Psychic,” “Synchronoise,” and even “Triple Axel.” After a lot of trial and error, I found that “Psychic” was the way to go. Again, it’s a Psychic-type move, so it benefits from STAB, and man, does it pack a punch. When you land a Psychic hit, it really makes a difference in battles.
- Fast Move: Confusion
- Charged Move: Psychic
But I didn’t stop there. I also tried pairing “Confusion” with “Shadow Ball” to deal with those pesky Ghost types that Gardevoir struggles against. It worked pretty well, giving me a good way to counter those matchups. “Dazzling Gleam” was another solid choice, especially against Dragon types, but I felt “Psychic” was still the better overall choice for raw power.
So, after all that testing, my go-to moveset for Gardevoir is definitely “Confusion” as the Fast Move and “Psychic” as the Charged Move. This combo has the highest damage output, and it just feels right in battles. I was winning way more often with this setup, and it made grinding through those raids and gym battles so much easier.
In the end, it’s all about finding what works best for you and your playstyle. But if you’re looking to power up your Gardevoir, give “Confusion” and “Psychic” a try. It worked wonders for me, and I think it’ll do the same for you. Happy battling, folks!
