Okay, so I’ve been getting into Pokemon Go lately, and I really wanted to optimize my Gardevoir. It’s one of my favorite Pokemon, and I just knew I had to make it as powerful as possible. So, I started doing some digging on what the best moveset would be.
First, I went through a bunch of different websites and forums. Some people were saying that Confusion and Psychic were the way to go for that Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB), you know? They said this combo had the highest total DPS and worked well for both attacking gyms and PvP battles. It sounded pretty solid to me.

But then, I stumbled upon others suggesting that Charm as a Fast Move was a good deal. Even though both Charm and Confusion get that STAB, Charm has that higher DPS. I gotta admit, it was tempting to try out.
- After gathering all this info, I decided to run some tests myself.
- I started with Confusion and Psychic on my Gardevoir and battled a few times in the local gyms.
- It did pretty well, taking down a few Pokemon without much trouble.
Next, I switched to Charm and gave it a shot with both Shadow Ball and Triple Axel. Honestly, the battles felt smoother, especially against those pesky Ghost types that Shadow Ball could handle. I even tried it out in a few PvP battles, and it held its own pretty well. Seemed like Charm was living up to its, well, charm!
Finally Decided
After a lot of back and forth, I decided to stick with Charm as the Fast Move and went with Shadow Ball and Triple Axel for the Charged Moves. It just felt like the most versatile setup, giving me an edge in different situations.
Then I found a site called * where you can look up specific Pokemon and get their best movesets, strengths, and weaknesses. When I searched for Gardevoir, it said the best offensive moveset is Confusion and Psychic, and the best defensive moveset is Confusion and Dazzling Gleam. It was interesting to see that, but I’m sticking with my Charm, Shadow Ball and Triple Axel setup for now.
And here’s another thing some folks pointed out: Gardevoir is better as a Fairy type because it ranks low as a Psychic-type raid attacker. That got me thinking maybe I should use Dazzling Gleam instead of Psychic if I wanted to go full Fairy. Also, I read that Psyshock is Gardevoir’s main STAB move, useful against Pokemon like Salazzle and Dragalge. Lots to consider!
But yeah, that’s my experience with optimizing Gardevoir in Pokemon Go. It’s been a fun little project, and I’m pretty happy with how my Gardevoir is performing now. If you’re also trying to build a strong Gardevoir, hopefully, my rambling helps you out a bit!
