Okay, so I’ve been trying to get better at League of Legends, right? I heard somewhere that focusing on just a couple of champions and really mastering them is the way to go. So I thought, “Alright, let’s split this up and make it manageable.”
First thing I did was choose my main lane. I went with the top lane because, I don’t know, I just like being a bit of a lone wolf up there. Then I had to pick an “off role,” just in case I couldn’t get top. For that, I chose support ’cause I figured I could still help out the team even if I wasn’t getting all the glory.

Choosing My Champions
Now for the fun part – picking the champions. For top lane, I decided to go with Garen and Malphite. Garen’s pretty straightforward, you know? Spin to win and all that. And Malphite, well, who doesn’t love being a giant, unkillable rock monster? As for support, I chose Leona and Sona. Leona’s great for locking people down, and Sona’s heals can be a lifesaver.
- Top Lane: Garen, Malphite
- Support: Leona, Sona
Getting Good (Hopefully)
Once I had my champions, it was time to actually, you know, play the game. I started by just spamming these four champions in normal games. I watched some videos about them, read some guides, the usual stuff. One tip I kept seeing was to mute everyone in the game. Apparently, it helps you focus and not get tilted by toxic teammates. Sounded good to me! I figured the less drama, the better.
So, game after game, I tried my best. I tried to focus on farming, warding, and not dying (easier said than done, let me tell you). I tried to learn the matchups, when to be aggressive, when to play it safe, and that kind of stuff. I paid more attention to warding, map awareness, and roaming to help other lanes. Roaming was super important, especially when I was playing support.
Still a Long Way to Go
Honestly, it’s been a grind. I’m definitely not some Challenger-level player or anything. I still make tons of mistakes, I still get frustrated, and I still have those games where I just get completely destroyed. Some days I think I’m getting better. Other days, well, not so much.
But I do think focusing on just a few champions has helped. I feel like I’m starting to understand them better, their strengths, their weaknesses, that sort of thing. I’m also starting to see some improvement in my gameplay. I die a little less, I make a few more plays, and every now and then, I even carry a game (don’t get too excited, it’s rare). It is a lot more fun than it used to be. It is a game after all.
So yeah, that’s my League of Legends journey so far. It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster, but I’m sticking with it. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll actually be good at this game. A guy can dream, right?
