I had a big idea today, right? I really wanted to get into this game called “Animal Crossing” and do some calm painting. I’ve seen some folks online talking about it, and it looked really relaxing. So, I decided to give it a shot.
First, I turned on my Nintendo Switch and started the game. I already played some, so I have my cute little island and my house and such. But, I wanted to get into the whole art thing. I remembered reading somewhere that you gotta donate some stuff to the museum first before you can even start with paintings. I think it was 30 things. So, I ran around my island, catching bugs, fishing, and digging up fossils. You know, the usual stuff. Blathers, that owl in the museum, was pretty happy to take them all.

Once I donated enough stuff, Blathers mentioned something about expanding the museum to include an art exhibit. That was my cue! Now, here’s where it got a little tricky. I had to find this shady fox character, Redd, who sells art. I heard he sometimes sells fakes, but I also saw a post online saying that the “Calm Painting” is always the real deal. Lucky me!
I waited for Redd to show up on his boat, which he does randomly. It took a few days, but finally, his boat appeared on the secret beach at the back of my island. I rushed over, excited to finally get my hands on some art.
When I got there, Redd had a bunch of paintings, but I spotted the “Calm Painting” right away. It’s a pretty picture of people relaxing on a Sunday afternoon. I quickly bought it, feeling pretty confident since I knew it couldn’t be a fake. I mean some other guy on the forum said it couldn’t be fake so I trusted him.
After that, I took my new painting straight to Blathers at the museum. He confirmed it was genuine, and it got hung up in the new art section. It looked amazing! I spent some time just walking around the exhibit, enjoying the peaceful vibe of the “Calm Painting.”
What I Learned
- You need to donate a bunch of stuff to the museum before you can start collecting art.
- Redd sells art, but you gotta watch out for fakes.
- The “Calm Painting” is always genuine, so it’s a safe buy.
- Having art in the museum is pretty cool and makes the island feel more cultured.
Overall, it was a fun little adventure getting that “Calm Painting.” I think I’ll try to collect more art in the future. It’s a nice way to add some personality to my island and have a chill place to hang out in the game. Plus, who doesn’t like a good painting of a relaxing Sunday afternoon?
