Alright, so, I’ve been grinding away at FIFA 23 lately, specifically trying to build up my Ultimate Team. I set a goal for myself: get that coveted 85-rated squad. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, let me tell you, it was quite the journey.
I started by just playing the game, you know? I hit up the usual modes. I did some FUT Champions, and some Division Rivals, and spent time in the Squad Battles. I just tried to play as much as possible, hoping to gather some decent rewards.

- FUT Champions: The competition here was pretty fierce, but I managed to scrape together a few wins. The rewards were hit or miss, but every little bit helped.
- Division Rivals: This was a bit more of a consistent grind. I slowly climbed the ranks, and the rewards were generally better than in the FUT Champions.
- Squad Battles: This was where I spent most of my time. It was less stressful than playing against real people, and I could rack up a good amount of points even if I didn’t win every game.
Then, I started opening the packs I earned. Most of the time, it was just a bunch of low-rated players that I didn’t need. I called them fodder. I began putting this fodder into those Squad Building Challenges, or SBCs, like most people suggested. There are a bunch of different SBCs to choose from, so I used the Futbin app to help me out. The app was super helpful.
I focused on the SBCs that offered 85+ Player Picks, which is what a lot of players recommend. I clicked on the specific SBC and then the segment I was working on, and it showed me a list of completed squads that other players had used. I simply chose the cheapest one and followed it. In the browser, I found that it’s similar. I clicked the SBC and found the option to view completed challenges at the bottom of the segment. I also took advantage of those evolution players, trying to boost their ratings. This helped me get some of those higher-rated players that I needed.
The grind was real, man. I spent hours playing, opening packs, and tinkering with my squad. There were times when I felt like I was making zero progress. But I kept at it, and eventually, it all started to come together.
Finally, after a few weeks, I did it. I hit that 85 rating! It was such a good feeling to see all that hard work pay off. And you know what? My team was actually pretty decent! I could finally compete with some of the better players out there.
So yeah, that’s my story of how I built an 85-rated squad in FIFA 23. It was a long and sometimes frustrating process, but it was definitely worth it in the end. If you’re trying to do the same, just keep grinding, use those resources like Futbin, and don’t give up! You’ll get there eventually.
