So, I hopped back into Pokemon GO today, figured I’d mess around with this little critter called Sentret. Yeah, that’s the one, looks kinda like a squirrel or something. Anyways, I was curious, right? So I did a bit of digging.
First off, I started catching a bunch of them. Gotta fill up that Pokedex, you know? Plus, catching ’em gives you Stardust and, man, Stardust is like gold in this game. Every time I caught one, I checked its CP. I found some weak ones around 238 CP, and some slightly stronger ones up to 264 CP. I used the “Quick Attack” and “Scratch” moves while catching them. They were pretty effective!

Then, I tried to get into some Raids. Let me tell you, those Raid Sentret are a bit tougher. The ones I faced were between 318 CP and 353 CP. And if the weather was on their side? Forget about it, they could go up to 441 CP. During these Raids, I tried to use the best counter Pokemon I had. It was tough, but I managed to take a few down.
After all that battling, I decided to boost up one of my Sentret. I had this one that I caught a while back, and I figured, why not make it stronger? You need Stardust and Candy for that, which I had been saving up. The more you level up in the game, the more you can power up your Pokemon, I saw that my trainer level was pretty high, so I could power up my Sentret quite a bit.
- Catching Sentret: Earns Stardust and fills the Pokedex.
- Raids: Tougher Sentret with higher CP, but good for a challenge.
- Powering Up: Uses Stardust and Candy to make Sentret stronger.
- Leveling Up: Increases how much you can power up your Pokemon.
I spent a good chunk of my day doing this, and by the end, I had a pretty beefy Sentret. It was way stronger than when I started, that’s for sure. From what I read, if you max out a Pokemon’s CP before evolving it, it gets even stronger after evolving. I haven’t evolved mine yet, but that’s the next step.
But like, it made me think, is Sentret even worth it? Sure, it’s got some cool moves like Hyper Voice, but its attack stat isn’t great. I saw some folks online saying that even Pokemon like Minccino are better. Maybe I’ll try those out next time.
Conclusion
All in all, it was a fun experiment. I learned a lot about Sentret and how to power up Pokemon in general. And hey, at least I got a bunch of Stardust out of it. Now I can go spend those 50 coins to increase my Pokemon and item storage. Might even try to take over some gyms tomorrow. We’ll see how it goes!
