Okay, so, today I wanted to mess around with MLB The Show 24, specifically, the whole “program stars” thing. I’d heard some chatter online, and I wanted to see what it was all about.
I launched the game and jumped into Diamond Dynasty, because that’s where all the program stuff is. When I started the game, I saw there was a “Starter” program and a “WBC” program. I needed to finish some moments and missions to earn those stars.

First, I went into the “Programs” tab from the main menu. You can see all the different programs there and the rewards you can get. It looked like the main way to get stars was through completing missions and moments. Then I started to play the missions. I chose “Starter program”.
I noticed in Road to the Show, there were challenges that mentioned program stars. So, I played some games there, trying to complete those challenges. I did some hitting and pitching challenges. If you are a hitter, you need to hit the ball into play. If you are a pitcher, you need to pitch strikeouts. I got some stars from those.
- Play Games in Diamond Dynasty: I tried different modes like Conquest and Battle Royale.
- Complete Missions: There were daily missions and program-specific missions. I finished those to get more stars.
- Do Moments: Moments are like little scenarios you play. I completed some of those Starter Program moments for extra stars.
Every time I completed a mission, moment, or challenge, I saw the program stars getting added to my total. Those stars get you closer to unlocking rewards on the program path. I kept playing and grinding through the missions.
So, basically, you earn program stars by just playing the game, hitting milestones, and completing specific tasks. Those stars then unlock rewards within the different player programs. It’s a grind, but it felt good to see the progress and unlock new stuff. That’s my little adventure with program stars in MLB The Show 24. Nothing too crazy, but it was fun figuring it out.
