So, I’ve been grinding away in Pokémon GO, specifically in the PvP scene, and I wanted to share my experience with a Pokémon that’s become a real MVP for me: Altaria. You know, that fluffy, cloud-like bird Pokémon? Turns out, it’s a beast in the Great League.
First off, getting my hands on a good Altaria wasn’t a walk in the park. It takes a whopping 400 Swablu candies to evolve a Swablu into Altaria. I spent days catching every Swablu I could find, using Pinap Berries like they were going out of style, just to stock up on those candies. Finally, I had enough, and I evolved my best Swablu. It felt like such a victory!

Next up, I started experimenting with movesets. It took some trial and error, but I found that Dragon Breath as the Fast Attack really does the trick. It dishes out damage fast and charges up the Charged Attacks quickly. And speaking of Charged Attacks, Sky Attack is a must-have. It hits hard and comes out pretty frequently, thanks to Dragon Breath. I also found that having Moonblast as a second Charged Attack gives Altaria some excellent coverage, especially against other Dragon types.
Once I got the moveset down, I started testing Altaria in battles. I jumped into the Great League and, man, this bird can fight! It took down some tough opponents that I used to struggle against. I went in match after match, and slowly began to learn the ropes.
- I quickly learned that timing is everything. Knowing when to use a shield and when to let an attack through became second nature.
- Swapping out Pokémon at the right moment can really turn the tide of a battle.
- Altaria’s bulkiness surprised me. It can take a hit, which gives you a bit more room to breathe and strategize.
I remember this one battle where I was down to my last Pokémon, Altaria, and my opponent still had two left. But thanks to the Dragon Breath and Sky Attack combo, I managed to clinch the win. It was epic! From then on, I kept on battling, kept on learning, and kept on winning.
In the end, I’ve been using Altaria in my Great League team for a while now, and it’s been a game-changer. This fluffy dragon has really pulled through for me in some tough spots. I mean, it’s not invincible or anything, but with the right moves and a bit of strategy, it can definitely hold its own. This was a tough Pokémon to get, and it took a lot of time and effort to get the right moves, but in the end, I finally found the perfect moveset and won a ton of battles!
