Okay, so I’ve been grinding a lot on MTG Arena lately, mostly playing Explorer. It’s a pretty cool format, kind of like Pioneer but, you know, just on Arena. I wanted to find out which decks are crushing it right now, so I started digging around.
First, I just looked at a bunch of different websites that track this kind of stuff. You know, the usual places that show win rates and which decks are popular in tournaments and stuff. It’s a good starting point to see what people are playing and what seems to be working.

Then, I started playing a bunch of games myself. I tried out a few different decks that looked interesting, just to get a feel for them. Some of them felt pretty strong, others not so much. It’s always different playing the decks yourself compared to just looking at the numbers.
After playing a ton of games, I started to see some patterns. Certain decks kept popping up, and they were winning a lot. Like, a LOT. So, I figured those must be some of the best decks in the format right now.
Of course, building these decks can be a pain if you don’t have all the cards. Wildcards are the key here. You get them from opening packs, and you can trade them in for any card of the same rarity. The thing is, you don’t get a ton of them, so you gotta be smart about which cards you craft. I usually try to focus on building one good deck at a time, rather than trying to get all the cards for every deck at once.
- Play a bunch of games to get a feel for different decks.
- See which decks are winning the most.
- Use your Wildcards wisely to build those decks.
It takes time, but it’s definitely worth it when you finally put together a killer deck and start racking up those wins. So yeah, that’s basically my process for figuring out the best Explorer decks on MTG Arena. It’s a lot of playing, a lot of watching, and a lot of tinkering, but that’s what makes it fun, right?
