Alright, you little gamers, gather ’round, because this old dog has been trying to figure out some new tricks in MLB The Show 24. I have been playing this game for a long time, so I thought I could do everything in my sleep. I was totally wrong. Let’s talk about how to ask for a trade in this game. It is not the same as the old versions.
First, I launched the game, figuring it would be the same old drill. But nope, the developers decided to throw a curveball. There I was, thinking I could just breeze through the menus like I used to, but it was nowhere to be found. I spent a good chunk of time just poking around, feeling like a complete newbie.

After messing around, I finally found out there is no direct option to tell your agent you are unhappy anymore. So I went into the “My Player” menu in the “Road to The Show” mode. I clicked around, and guess what? There is an “Interactions” tab. That is where I hit another dead end. There is no “request trade” option in there, either.
Then, I tried going to the settings, thinking maybe there is something hidden. In the “Franchise” mode, there is an option called “Force Trades“. I turned that on. This lets you do some trades on the trade screen, but it is not the same as asking for a trade for your own player.
So, what did I learn? You can’t just ask for a trade like before. It is all about leveling up your stats. It is like your agent is telling you that you need to prove yourself before you can make any demands. I spent hours grinding, trying to get my stats up. It was frustrating, I am not gonna lie. But it is what it is.
I even tried looking up some guides online, and they all said the same thing. You gotta play well, improve your stats, and then maybe, just maybe, you will get traded. It is not like the old days where you could just say, “Hey, I want out,” and poof, you are on a new team.
- Start the game and go to “Road to The Show” mode.
- Look for “My Player” and then “Interactions.”
- Realize there is no trade request option.
- Go to settings and find “Force Trades” in “Franchise” mode, but know it is not the same.
- Grind and improve your stats to maybe get traded eventually.
In the end, I am still on my original team, trying to make the best of it. It is a whole new ball game, and this old-timer is still trying to keep up. So, if you are trying to ask for a trade in MLB The Show 24, do not waste your time looking for an easy way out. Just play hard, level up, and hope for the best.
