So, I’ve been grinding away in Pokemon Go for a while now, and let me tell you, figuring out the best poison types took some doing. I wanted to get down and dirty with these toxic critters and really see what’s what.
First off, I started catching every poison type I could find. From the common Weedle to the rarer ones, I was on a mission. I spent hours walking around, hitting up different spots, hoping to snag a good variety. I even started tracking their stats and moves, making notes in my little notebook. I was like a kid again, only this time I had a phone and a mission.

After I had a decent team, I started battling. Gyms, raids, you name it. I wanted to see these guys in action. I quickly learned that some moves are way stronger than others. Like, Belch and Gunk Shot? Those are beasts! 120 base power each. But with Gunk Shot, sometimes it misses, and that can really mess you up in a tight spot. Still, when it hits, it hits hard.
Then there was the whole deal with weaknesses. I realized that my poison buddies were getting wrecked by Ground and Psychic moves. It was super obvious once I started paying attention. I’d be in a battle, and bam, one Earthquake or Psychic attack, and my Pokemon were toast. So I started dodging more, trying to keep them in the fight longer.
- Catch every poison type
- Check their stats and moves
- Battle in gyms and raids
- Watch out for Ground and Psychic moves
I also got into this whole thing with Toxtricity. There are two versions, amped and low key. I messed around with both, and honestly, they’re pretty similar. Amped gets Shift Gear, which is cool for boosting speed, but Low Key gets Venom Drench, which is kind of niche, but neat, you know? I mean, it lowers the opponent’s stats after they’re poisoned. I spent a good chunk of time just trying out different movesets with these guys. Magnetic Flux is another move that I tried, but with its speed, it is pretty useless.
Through all this, I felt like I was really learning something. It wasn’t just about catching and battling. I was starting to understand the strategy, the planning that goes into building a solid team. And let me tell you, there are 18 types in total. I even made this little chart to keep track of their strengths and weaknesses.
In the end, I didn’t just figure out which poison types were the best. I got a whole new appreciation for the game. It’s not just about tapping the screen. It’s about thinking, planning, and, most importantly, having fun. And that’s what I did. I had a blast figuring all this out, and I hope my little journey helps someone else out there.
