Okay, so I’ve been playing a ton of Pokemon Go lately, and I’ve really been trying to get into the whole battling thing. I caught this Electrode a while back, and I heard it could be pretty decent in battles. So, I figured I’d try to figure out the best moveset for it, you know, to make it as strong as possible.
First, I powered up my Electrode a bit. I used some Stardust and Candies. I want it to be as strong as possible, you know?
Next, I did a bunch of reading online. I mean, a real deep dive into all the forums and guides. Everyone seems to have different opinions, but I started to see some patterns. It looked like Volt Switch and Thunderbolt were popping up a lot as good moves. Some people were saying Spark was better than Volt Switch but not by much. I saw some people liked Discharge too, but Thunderbolt just seemed overall better. And some folks were even talking about Hyper Beam, which sounded kinda cool, but I wasn’t so sure about that one for Electrode.
So, after all that research, I decided to try a few different things out. I started with Volt Switch and Discharge. I went into some gym battles and, you know, tried it out against different Pokemon. It felt okay, but not amazing. Then I used a TM, one of those Charged TM things, to get Thunderbolt.
I ran a bunch of battles with this combination: Volt Switch and Thunderbolt and I tried out Spark and Thunderbolt too. The battles went pretty well. It is much better than my initial move set combination. It is taking down Pokemon pretty effectively. This combo seemed to work pretty well! I was taking down some Pokemon that were way stronger than my Electrode, which was awesome. I had to use some potions and revives, but overall, I was winning more than I was losing. I also used the combination of Volt Switch and Hyper Beam just to see how that would work, but it didn’t seem to do as well.
I think I finally cracked the code! For me, at least, it seems like Volt Switch or Spark and Thunderbolt are the way to go. It just feels like they do the most damage, and Thunderbolt charges up pretty fast, too, so I can use it a lot in battle.
- Fast move: Volt Switch or Spark.
- Charged move: Thunderbolt.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my little experiment. Maybe it’ll help someone else out there who’s trying to build a strong Electrode. It took a bit of work, but I’m pretty happy with how my Electrode is performing now. Time to go catch some more Pokemon!
