Alright, so I’ve been hooked on Pokemon Go lately, and I really wanted to get into the whole battling scene. I mean, who doesn’t want their Pokemon to be the strongest, right? So, I started digging into this whole “best movesets” thing. Turns out, it’s a bigger deal than I thought.
Started Simple
At first, I just picked the moves that looked cool, or sounded powerful. But then I started losing battles, and that just wouldn’t do. So, I did what anyone would do – I hit the internet. Turns out, there’s a whole science to this stuff. There’s this thing called “DPS”, which stands for Damage Per Second, and “TDO”, which, I learned, is Total Damage Output. It’s not just about how hard a move hits, but also how fast you can use it, and how much damage you can dish out before your Pokemon goes down.

Dynamax and Max Moves
And then there’s this whole Dynamax thing. I read somewhere that when a Pokemon is Dynamaxed, they get these special attacks called Max Moves. Apparently, you can even unlock and upgrade them, but I haven’t gotten that far yet. I did manage to make one of my Pokemon Dynamax once, it was pretty cool. It got huge, and the battle got way more intense.
Energy Per Second
Another thing I learned is this “EPS”, or Energy Per Second. It’s mostly about fast moves, from what I understand. A fast move with a higher EPS means you can use your charge moves more often. And that’s key, because charge moves are where the real damage is at. So, I started looking at my Pokemon’s fast moves and trying to figure out which ones would fill up that energy bar the quickest.
Choosing the Best
Most websites will help you pick out the “best” moveset for each Pokemon. I spent hours on there trying different combinations. It’s kinda fun, in a nerdy way. I like seeing how the numbers change when I switch moves around.
Still Learning
I’m still a newbie at all this, but I’m getting better. My Pokemon are definitely winning more battles now, and I feel like I’m starting to get a handle on this whole strategy thing. There’s so much more to learn, though. Like, I still need to figure out how to really optimize for different matchups. But hey, that’s half the fun, right? Figuring it all out. Anyway, just thought I’d share my little journey into the world of Pokemon Go movesets. It’s been a wild ride so far, and I’m excited to see where it takes me next.
