Alright, guys, so today I was messing around with this thing called the MCW 6.8 in Modern Warfare 3. It’s supposed to be a marksman rifle, right? But I was thinking, what if we could beef this thing up? So I started playing around with it in the Gunsmith, trying to see if I could make it hit harder and feel more like an assault rifle.
First thing I did was try to unlock this bad boy. Took a bit of grinding, but I got there. Once I got my hands on it, I realized it’s got some serious potential. I mean, this thing can really pack a punch, even rivaling some of the sniper rifles out there. So, I started digging into the attachments.

My main goal was to increase the damage. I wanted each shot to really count, you know? Make those enemies feel it. I experimented with a bunch of different setups, trying to find the sweet spot.
- I played around with different barrels, trying to find one that would give me that extra oomph without sacrificing too much handling.
- Then I messed with the optics, because, let’s be real, accuracy is key.
- After that, I tinkered with the stock and rear grip, looking for that perfect balance of stability and mobility.
I went through a couple of different builds. One was more focused on raw power, turning the MCW 6.8 into a semi-auto beast. The other was a bit more balanced, trying to maintain some of that marksman rifle feel while still boosting the damage. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m starting to see some real potential here.
Honestly, it’s a blast turning this marksman rifle into something totally different. Feels like I’m breaking the game a little, in a good way. It’s like, who needs an assault rifle when you can have this monster?
I even tried it out in a few matches. Let me tell you, it’s satisfying as hell to drop enemies with this thing. They don’t expect it. They’re all geared up for a long-range fight, and then BAM! They’re down, wondering what hit them.
The Result
I’m still tweaking things here and there, trying out new attachments, seeing what works best. I suggest to give it a shot. Trust me, it’s worth it. You might just find your new favorite weapon in MW3.
