Well, from what I gather, this submarine pitchin’ is when they throw the ball real low, almost scrapin’ the ground. Like they’re tryin’ to roll it to the batter instead of throwin’ it. Seems mighty strange to me, but I guess it works. Heard it’s hard to hit that way. Ball comes up at ya from the dirt, and you ain’t expectin’ it. Gotta be quick on your feet, I reckon. In that there MLB The Show 24, you can try to hit the ball in that way. Oh, it ain’t easy.

They say it’s the most, uh, realistic. Like how they throw in real life. I think that’s the most important thing.

They got somethin’ called classic pitchin’ too. It’s probably like the old days. Before they had all them fancy ways of throwin’. They say classic and pulse pitchin’ are the most realistic ways to play the game. Like how them real baseball players do it. It’s about how good the pitcher is, and also about the player’s skill.
Then there’s pinpoint and somethin’ called analog. Sounds like somethin’ from a science book. They say it’s more like an arcade. Whatever that means. Maybe like them games they got at the county fair. The ones with all the lights and noises. They say you can be real good at pinpoint and analog. Even if the pitcher is a 70, you can still throw good. I don’t know what that 70 means. Maybe how many eggs he can hold at once.

I don’t rightly know why they throw it submarine style. Maybe it’s to trick the batter. Maybe it’s ’cause it’s harder to hit. Or maybe they just like showin’ off. I guess these young folks today, they like all these new ways of doin’ things. Like them instant pots and electric blankets. Me, I’m happy with my old wood stove and my grandma’s quilt.
