Oh, honey, you wanna know about this MTG Arena Explorer meta thing? Sounds fancy, but it ain’t rocket science. Let me tell ya what I figured out.
What is this Explorer thing?
So, this Explorer thing, it’s like a big ol’ potluck where everyone brings their best cards. And it is on MTG Arena, that game my grandson plays all day. You gotta have at least 60 cards, can’t have less, just like you can’t go to a potluck empty-handed. And these cards, they are from something called Pioneer, but not all of them. It is all very confusing but you bring what is allowed from that Pioneer thing, okay?

Some Cards I Heard About
They got these cards, some are good, some are not so good, just like folks in our town. Heard about one called Thoughtseize. That’s a mean one, I hear. It lets ya take cards from the other person. Not very nice, but hey, gotta win, right? They play it wherever they can, it is so good, that card.
Then there’s this other thing, “Azorius Control.” Sounds like a fancy disease, don’t it? It’s got some fella named Teferi, and he’s a hero, or somethin’. And a companion, Yorion. Don’t know much about ’em, but they sound important. This part is for those fancy folks, I think. I do not get it, to be honest. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me. But some folks love it, I guess. Like old Mildred and her prize-winning zucchini bread, some folks just like different things.
Best Cards in Explorer, They Say
Alright, so, if you wanna win this thing, you gotta know the best cards in Explorer. It’s like knowin’ who brings the best pies to the church bake-off. You gotta know what you’re up against. Some cards are more popular than others. Just like some people bring potato salad and that is not very exciting, some people bring apple pie and everyone wants a piece.
- Thoughtseize
- That Teferi fella
- Some new cards from somethin’ called “Pioneer Masters”
These new cards, they are shaking things up, they say. Makin’ things interesting, like when young Jimmy brought that spicy chili to the potluck last year. Surprised us all!
Some New Decks, Whatever That Means
They keep talkin’ about “decks.” It’s just a pile of cards, far as I can tell. But they say there are some new ones that are real good, from this “Pioneer Masters” thing. They like to use all these fancy words. Just like my grandson talkin’ about his computer. I don’t understand half of it, but he seems to know what he’s doin’.
So, these new decks, they’re like new recipes, I suppose. Some are good, some are bad. You gotta try ’em out and see what works. Maybe you like Aunt Betty’s casserole, maybe you don’t. It is all about what you like, I guess. And what you are good at making.
Metagaming and Other Nonsense
They got this word, “metagaming.” Sounds like a bunch of malarkey to me. But it’s just tryin’ to figure out what everyone else is gonna do. Like tryin’ to guess what everyone’s gonna bring to the potluck so you can bring somethin’ that’ll be a hit. If everyone is bringing potato salad, you bring a pie, you see?
They say it’s the “game around the game”. Whatever that means. Like all the gossip and such at the quilting bee. Who’s bringin’ what, who’s playin’ what, who’s beatin’ who. It’s all just a big ol’ mess if you ask me. But some folks live for that kinda thing. They like to think they are so smart, knowing all these secrets.
Make Sure Your Computer Works
Now, this whole thing is on the computer, so you gotta make sure your computer can handle it. Don’t want it freezin’ up on ya in the middle of a game. Like when my old television used to go fuzzy during my stories. Drove me crazy! Sometimes it is your internet, too. Just like sometimes the roads are bad and you cannot get where you need to go. Nothing you can do about that, just gotta wait it out.
Just Play and Have Fun
Anyway, that’s all I got for ya on this MTG Arena Explorer meta business. Don’t get too caught up in all the fancy words and such. Just play the game, try your best, and have fun. That’s what really matters, ain’t it? Just like life, you do the best you can with what you got. And you try to have a good time doing it. Win or lose, it is all just a game. Now, where did I put my knitting needles…?
