That Wavesplitter, oh boy, it’s somethin’ else. My grandson, he’s always goin’ on about it. Says it’s the best thing since sliced bread. Now, I don’t know much about these newfangled contraptions, but I reckon it’s pretty good if he’s that excited. He said something about a “catalyst” thing that makes it better. He said you can get that Wavesplitter gun from some kind of special box, he called it an engram.
How to get that Wavesplitter thing
He told me, you gotta find these, uh, “exotic engrams.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? And then there are these other ones, “Fated Engrams” and “Luminous Engrams.” Lord knows what those are. But you gotta collect them.

You gotta wait for some kinda party to start, somethin’ about a rally. And then you gotta, what was it, “pledge” to somethin’ called “dead orbit.” Sounds spooky if you ask me. But that’s what the boy said. He said you get it there. This Wavesplitter catalyst thing. I don’t know, it all sounds like a lot of work to me.
What is Wavesplitter’s thing even good for?
He says this Wavesplitter thing, it shoots out some kinda hot beam. Says it uses sound, can you believe it? Sound! To make a hot beam that zaps things. Sounds like somethin’ out of one of them space movies. But I guess that’s how they do things these days.
He says it’s real good for, what was it, “crowd control.” I reckon that means it’s good for when there’s a whole mess of them bad guys comin’ at ya. He also said it’s good for takin’ down them big fellas, the ones with the shields. Says it melts right through ’em. Sounds pretty powerful to me. That’s what the Wavesplitter catalyst is all about.
The catalyst thing for Wavesplitter
Now, this “catalyst” thing, he says it makes the Wavesplitter even better. Says it gives it more, somethin’ or other. I think he said “ammo” or somethin’. And he said somethin’ about it makin’ it generate these little shiny things, he called ’em “orbs.” Says they make you stronger or somethin’.
I don’t rightly know how that works, but he seemed pretty excited about it. He said to get the Wavesplitter catalyst, you gotta do a whole bunch of stuff with the Wavesplitter. Defeat a bunch of enemies with that gun. I don’t know the detail. Shoot a bunch of the bad guys, I reckon. Sounds like a lot of shootin’. Then, you get the thing and make the Wavesplitter better.
Is it worth it?
Well, I don’t know about all that. Seems like a lot of fuss to me. But he’s happy, and that’s what matters. I guess if you’re into all that shootin’ and whatnot, it’s probably worth it. Me, I’m more of a knittin’ kinda gal. But to each their own, I reckon.
He’s always goin’ on about these things, though. Last week it was some other thingamajig, somethin’ about a “Gjallarhorn.” Said it was the best rocket launcher ever made. I don’t know nothin’ about rocket launchers, but he sure seemed to think it was somethin’ special. I just hope he don’t blow his fingers off with one of them things. You can ask around for it, I heard. Just like the Wavesplitter catalyst.
Oh, and he was talkin’ about somethin’ called a “Vex Mythoclast” the other day. Said it was some kinda special gun from a raid. I don’t know what a raid is, sounds like somethin’ them bandits would do. But he said it was real hard to get, somethin’ about beatin’ a boss. I don’t know what that means, but I guess it’s some kinda big shot bad guy. But that’s not like the Wavesplitter catalyst. I think you can get that one easier.
And then there’s this other thing he keeps bringin’ up, somethin’ called a “One Thousand Voices.” Says it’s a fusion rifle that shoots a big beam of fire. Sounds dangerous if you ask me. He said it’s real good for, somethin’ called “DPS.” I don’t know what that is, but I guess it means it does a lot of damage. Sounds like the Wavesplitter catalyst, just a different gun.
He’s always talkin’ about these things, I can’t hardly keep up. But I try to listen, you know? It’s important to him. And I guess it’s nice that he’s got somethin’ he’s passionate about. Even if it is a bit loud and explodey. You know the young people and their Wavesplitter catalyst.
