Well, this here thing, 2k controls ps4, it ain’t as hard as them young’uns make it out to be. I seen my grandson playin’ it, yellin’ and screamin’ at that there screen. It’s just a game, right? But them 2k controls on ps4, they got all them buttons and sticks. Makes my head spin just lookin’ at it. Still, I figured I’d try to make sense of it, for all you folks out there who also scratchin’ your heads.
My grandson, he tried to teach me. Bless his heart, he’s a good boy. He says, “Grandma, ps4 2k controls are easy!” Easy for him, maybe. He’s got them fast fingers. Me, I’m a little slower these days. But I ain’t givin’ up! I watched him play, and I think I got some of it figured out.
Movin’ Them Players
First thing’s first, you gotta move them little men around on the screen. That’s the left stick, the one that looks like a little mushroom. You push it up, they go up. Push it down, they go down. Left, right, you get the picture. It ain’t rocket science, just gotta get the hang of it. Like feedin’ chickens, gotta be gentle or they’ll run off everywhere.
- Left stick: Move your player.
- Push up: Player goes up the court.
- Push down: Player goes down the court.
- Push left: Player goes left.
- Push right: Player goes right.
Now, that there R2 button, my grandson says that’s for runnin’ fast. You hold that down, and them little men, they really get movin’! Like a cat chasin’ a mouse. Gotta be quick if you wanna get that ball in the hoop, I reckon.
Shootin’ and Passin’
Then there’s the shootin’. That’s the square button, I think. You gotta hold it down, and then let go. The longer you hold it, the farther they throw it, I think. It’s like throwin’ a rock at a tin can. Gotta get the aim just right. Sometimes it goes in, sometimes it don’t. Just gotta keep tryin’, I guess. nba 2k controls ps4, gotta learn them all.
Passin’ the ball, that’s the X button. You just tap it, and the ball goes to another one of your little men. Gotta be careful though, don’t want the other team to get it! It’s like passin’ a plate of cookies, gotta be quick and make sure the right person gets it. If you want to do one of them fancy passes, hold down that L2 button.
- Square: Shoot the ball.
- X: Pass the ball.
- Hold L2 and press X: Fancy pass.
Playin’ Defense
Now, you can’t just be runnin’ around tryin’ to score. You gotta stop the other team too. That’s called defense. My grandson, he’s always yellin’ about defense. Says it’s important. I reckon he’s right. 2k controls ain’t just about scoring. You gotta know how to play defense in 2k on ps4.
That L2 button, that’s important for defense. You hold that down, and your little man gets all low and ready to pounce. Like a hen protectin’ her chicks. Then you use that left stick again to move him around and try to block the other team. I think if you press the triangle button it makes your guy jump and try to steal the ball. You can also press the circle button to make your guy try to take the ball.
- L2: Defensive stance.
- Triangle: Jump to try to get the ball.
- Circle: Try to take the ball.
There’s also that right stick, that’s for doin’ fancy moves, I think. Stealin’ and dribblin’ and all that. My grandson, he’s always flickin’ that stick around. Makes the little men do all kinds of spins and jumps. Looks kinda silly to me, but I guess it works. I ain’t got the hang of that one yet. Too much for these old bones, I reckon.
All Them Other Buttons
There’s a bunch of other buttons too. Them ones on the top, L1 and R1, I think they do somethin’. And that big button in the middle, the one with the PS on it, that’s for pausin’ the game, I think. Good for when you need a break to get a drink of water or somethin’. Basic 2k controls ps4 ain’t that hard.
Honestly, all these controls for 2k, it’s a lot to remember. But I figure, if I can learn to use a smartphone, I can learn this. It just takes practice, like anythin’ else. And maybe a little help from the young’uns. They’re good at these things, gotta give ’em that.
So, don’t be scared of them 2k ps4 controls. Just take it one button at a time. You’ll get the hang of it. And if I can learn it, anyone can! Just remember what that old lady told ya. And don’t be afraid to ask for help. These young folks, they know what they’re doin’ with these video games. Might learn somethin’ from ’em, you never know!
