That Pokemon Go, my little grandson always plays it. He always asks me to help catch them little monsters. He says, “Grandma, help me get that Icy Snow region monster!” I don’t know much, but I try.
He showed me the phone, and there’s this white butterfly thing. That’s the Icy Snow Vivillon, he says. Says it only comes from the cold places. Real cold. Like up north, way up north.
That Icy Snow Thing in Pokemon Go
This Pokemon thing, it’s all about catching them little critters, right? And this Icy Snow one, it’s a special one. You gotta go to where it’s real cold to find it. Or you gotta know people there. People who live where it’s always snowing and cold.
- You want that Icy Snow? Gotta find the cold.
- That boy, he told me, Norway. That’s a cold place. Icy Snow is there.
- Russia, too. Big and cold. Lots of snow. You find Icy Snow there.
My grandson, he don’t live in no cold place. He’s always on that phone, though. He says he’s trading postcards. Sounds silly to me. But he says that’s how you get the Icy Snow Vivillon if you ain’t in the cold.
Pokemon Go and Friends
He’s got friends all over the world on that game. Sends them postcards, they send him postcards. He don’t know these people, just plays with them on that phone. He says they help him catch that Icy Snow Pokemon. And some other ones, too. Jungle and Marine, he called them.
I told him to be careful, talking to strangers on that phone. But he says it’s all right, it’s just for the game. I guess if it helps him get that Icy Snow thing, it is okay. Still, it is weird, friends all over, just for some little monsters on a phone.

This Pokemon Go Game, It’s a Lot
I don’t really get it, but he sure loves it. He’s always running around, looking at his phone. Sometimes he goes out with his friends, they all play together. They yell and shout when they catch something good. It is all about practice, my grandson always says.
He told me about the Jungle one. Says you gotta find people in Malaysia or somewhere like that. Hot places, he says. And the Marine one, that’s from Spain, I think. Or Portugal, maybe. He knows all these places now, just from that Pokemon Go game.
I told him, back in my day, we played outside. We didn’t need no phones. But times are different, I guess. If it makes him happy, this Pokemon Go, then that’s all right.
Catching That Icy Snow Pokemon
So, if you want that Icy Snow Vivillon, you gotta do what my grandson does. Find them people in the cold places. Or go there yourself, if you like the snow. I sure don’t. I like it warm.

This game, it is something else. Kids these days, they know all sorts of things. My grandson, he teaches me new things every day, even if it’s just about this Pokemon Go. I guess it is nice to learn new things. Even for an old lady like me, if you want the Icy Snow one in Pokemon Go, you need to find the cold places where it lives, that’s the main thing to remember.
I still think it is all a little bit silly, chasing these little monsters on a phone. But he is happy, and that is what is important. Just be careful who you talk to on that thing, that is what I always say. This Pokemon game, it is a big deal to these kids. They sure love to catch them all. Especially that Icy Snow one, that one is special, I guess. Because it comes from so far away. And you gotta work hard to get it, trading them postcards and all.
That’s all I know about that Icy Snow thing in Pokemon Go. It is a lot of fuss if you ask me. But these kids today, they love their games. And that is all right, I suppose. If it keeps them busy and out of trouble, it is not so bad. And who knows, maybe one day I will even try to catch one of them myself. Maybe not that Icy Snow one, though. I do not like the cold one bit!
