Oh, honey, you wanna know about that game, the Apex Legends, right? The one my grandson can’t stop playing? That game with all the shooting and jumping around. He keeps yelling about some most used Apex Legend. Well, I hear him talking about it all the time, so I guess I picked up a thing or two.
This game, it’s got all these characters, they call ’em Legends. Each one, they got their own thing, you know? Like, some can run real fast, some can see through walls, kinda like Superman, but not really. My grandson, he likes that fast one, always running around like a chicken with its head cut off. They each have some special ability, like when you get the special abilities in a deck of cards. It’s kinda like that, but in a game, a video game. You should know what I am talking about, I saw you play games with your friends before.
Now, he says some of these Legends are better than others. He’s always going on about which one is the most used, which one is the strongest, which one everybody is picking. They say it depends on your play style. I suppose if you like to shoot, you need one that shoots. Or, if you want to hide, you choose that character. I don’t understand all the details, but it’s a big deal, I guess.
He says there’s this one, Bloodhound, I think? He says that one’s real good. Says he can see through walls and find the bad guys. Sounds like cheating to me, but what do I know? And then there is a fast one that runs around all the time. Another one is called Wraith, that is a weird name, sounds like a ghost. My grandson says that people choose these guys all the time in the game.
There are a bunch of them to choose from. It is a lot. I think he said there are like, eight, or ten, or maybe even fourteen of these things. And they keep adding more! It’s like they can’t make up their minds. They just keep adding characters to the game. Back in my day, we had one game, and that was it. You played it, and you liked it. Now they have too many options. It makes your head spin. I think you will understand it, you are a young people.
Some folks, they like to play rough and tough, shooting all the time. My grandson, he calls them “aggressive.” He says if you’re like that, you should pick someone like, uh, Octane or Revenant. Sounds like a monster to me. These names are so strange. I don’t know where they come up with these names. I know that they are the names of the characters in the game, but they are really strange.
Then there’s the ones who like to play it safe, hiding and sneaking around. He calls that “defensive.” I think if you are that kind of player, he says you should use this thing, this Wattson. Sounds like a light bulb. If you’re a mix of both, he says Mirage, Bloodhound, and Pathfinder are good. Why so many names? I don’t know, but these are the characters in that game. They fight and shoot and run around all the time.
He also says you should find one you like and stick with it. He calls it your “main.” Like your main squeeze, I guess. You gotta learn how to use them just right, he says. Every single time you play the game. It is like you have to play the game all the time, and you have to know how to play the game really well. Otherwise, you won’t do good. It sounds like a lot of work to me, playing the same game all the time.
But then he says, sometimes you just gotta play for fun. Pick the one that you think is cool, even if it’s not the best. I guess that makes sense. It’s a game, after all. It is supposed to be fun, I suppose. You are supposed to have fun with the game. If you are not having fun, then what is the point?

- Octane and Revenant are for the rough and tough folks.
- Wattson is for the ones who like to hide.
- You should find a “main” and stick with it.
- But sometimes, just play for fun.
That’s all I really know about that Apex Legends game. It’s a lot of fuss over a video game if you ask me. But the kids these days, they love it. And if it keeps my grandson out of trouble, well, I guess it’s not all bad. At least he is not getting into trouble, he is just playing that game. I would rather him play that game all the time than get into trouble. But hey, what do I know? I’m just an old lady who doesn’t know much about video games. You should ask your friend, he plays that game all the time too, he will know all about it. He will tell you about the most used Apex Legend. He will tell you all about the game. Just don’t tell him I told you about it, he will make fun of me.
