That League game, my grandson plays it all the time. He keeps talking about these “prestige skins”. What is that? Sounds fancy, but I don’t really get it. He said it makes his characters look real good, all shiny and golden like.
He says these “prestige skins” are hard to get. You can’t just buy them, no. You gotta do something else. He says you need something called “prestige points”. 100 of ’em, he said! One hundred! That’s a lot. Where do you even get those?
He says you can buy them, or you can get them from buying this other thing called a “pass”. It’s all so complicated! But he says you need to get 100, and then you can get these special skins. They’re different than other skins. What are those other skins? There are Epic ones, Legendary ones, and Ultimate ones. But these prestige skins, you can’t buy them with RP, which my grandson says it is the money in that game. What a complicated game!
I saw one of his prestige skins once. It was for this girl character, Lux. Something about a “Battle Academia”. It was all sparkly. He said it’s one of the best ones. He was real proud of that one. It does look different from the regular ones, I guess. More, how do you say it… fancy? Yeah, fancy.
He also showed me another one for that wolf character, Volibear. What a strange name! It’s called “Duality Dragon” or something like that. It came out last October, he said. October 21st, to be exact. He remembers these things like it’s his birthday or something. He is really into these skins!
So these prestige skins, they’re like, the top-tier things in that game. The best of the best. You gotta work for ’em, or spend a lot of money, I guess. My grandson, he’s always on that computer, clicking away. He says he’s trying to get more of these skins. I don’t know, seems like a lot of work for something that just makes your character look different.
But hey, if it makes him happy, I guess it’s alright. He gets all excited when he gets a new one. He comes running to me, “Look, look!” And I just nod and smile. Kids these days and their video games. Back in my day, we just played outside. But times are different now, I suppose.

There are many more skins in the game. But these prestige skins are different. They’re special, they have gold borders in the game. They also have special visual effects when you use your abilities. Sounds really fancy, right?
My grandson says that many people want these prestige skins. They all want to look cool and different in the game. They show off these skins to their friends. It is like a competition, who has the better skin. It’s a crazy world.
Well, that’s all I know about these prestige skins. It is a lot of information for an old lady like me. But I try to keep up with my grandson’s hobbies. It is important to connect with the young ones, even if their games are too complicated for me.
Now, I need to go tend to my garden. Those tomatoes aren’t gonna water themselves, you know. And maybe I’ll ask my grandson to show me that Lux skin again. It was kinda pretty, I gotta admit. Maybe I’ll even try to play that game with him sometime. Who knows, maybe this old lady can learn a new trick or two.
