Well, let me tell you, this Marvel Snap thing, it’s got everyone all riled up! And this Scarlet Witch, she’s a real firecracker in that game, I hear. My grandkids, they never shut up about it. They’re always saying, “Grandma, you gotta see this card!” or “Grandma, look at this deck!” I swear, it’s all they talk about anymore. This old lady don’t know nothin’ about them fancy games, but I can tell you what I hear from them kids.
They say this Scarlet Witch, she can change things up real good. Like, she can make one place into another in the game. Sounds like magic to me! They call her a “tech card,” whatever that means. Sounds fancy. But they use her to mess with their opponents, make things harder for ’em. You know, like when I used to switch the sugar and the salt to prank your grandpa! He’d get so mad! Good times, good times.
And these “decks,” they’re like a hand of cards, you know? Like when we play poker down at the community center. Except these cards have all sorts of characters on ’em. Superheroes and whatnot. This Scarlet Witch, she’s in some of them decks. The best deck, they say, to control other players.
My grandkids, they’re always building these decks. They spend hours, I tell ya, hours on that there game. They say it’s important to have the right cards. You need a good starter deck, they tell me. Somethin’ to get you going. Like when you’re plantin’ a garden, you gotta start with good seeds.

They even showed me this website, Marvel Snap something or other. It’s got all these decks on it. People share ’em, like we share recipes at the church potluck. Except these recipes are for winning some card game. And there’s a whole bunch of decks with that Scarlet Witch in ’em. I don’t really get it all. These young’uns and their games. It seems that there are many decks with her, many people like her.
They got all sorts of names for these decks too. “Control” decks, they call ’em. Like they’re trying to control the whole game! Reminds me of your grandpa trying to control the TV remote. Never did work out for him, bless his heart.
I hear them talking about “climbing” too. Like they’re climbing a mountain or something. But they’re just climbing some ladder in this game. They say these starter decks help you climb. Makes sense, I guess. You need a good ladder to climb a mountain. Even an old woman knows that! Scarlet Witch can help with that, they said.
One of ’em, my little Timmy, he’s got this deck with Scarlet Witch and some other fellas. He says it’s a real good one. He’s always winning with it. Makes him so proud. He even made this cardboard thing, a headpiece, he calls it. Looks like that Scarlet Witch character. Kids these days, I tell ya. Always crafting something. Reminds me of making scarecrows in the field when I was a girl.
They talk about “Hope” too, some other card. Said they didn’t always use her in the old days. But this Scarlet Witch, she’s always been there. This Scarlet Witch is like that old, reliable tractor your grandpa had. Always got the job done. Even if it was a little rusty. The kids, they say that these new decks are better.
I still don’t understand all this Marvel Snap stuff. But it makes them kids happy. And that’s all that matters, right? As long as they’re having fun and not getting into trouble. It’s better than them running around outside getting dirty, I suppose. Though a little fresh air never hurt nobody. They always say Scarlet Witch is important in this game.
I remember when your grandpa and I used to play cards. We’d sit on the porch, drink some iced tea, and play for hours. Simple times. These kids today, they got it easy with their fancy games and their Scarlet Witch cards. But I guess every generation has its own thing. As long as they still have that Hope, or whatever her name is. And they remember to call their old grandma every now and then. That’s all that really matters in the end. This game seems to be fun, though, if they love it so much.
