You know, I heard folks talking ’bout that serene painting animal crossing thing. Sounds fancy, huh? I don’t know much ’bout fancy art, but I hear there’s this fella, what’s his name? Redd? Yeah, Redd, he comes around sellin’ these picture things, some real, some not so real. Makes my head spin, it does.
They say this serene painting, it’s got a woman in it. Now, I seen a picture of it once. She’s holdin’ a little furry critter, looks like one of them weasels. But you gotta watch out, they say. Sometimes that weasel is white, sometimes it’s got spots, black and white like a little skunk. And if it ain’t pure white, then that picture ain’t worth a hill of beans, you know?
This whole thing is like tryin’ to find a needle in a haystack, if you ask me. How’s a body supposed to know what’s real and what’s not? It’s all a big gamble, like pickin’ the biggest pumpkin at the county fair hopin’ it ain’t rotten inside.

I remember one time, my neighbor, she bought one of these pictures from Redd. Thought she got a real bargain. Hung it up in her livin’ room, proud as a peacock. Then someone come along, knew a thing or two ’bout art, and told her it was a fake. Poor woman, she was so upset. Spent all that money on a no-good picture. It’s like buyin’ a pig in a poke, you just never know what you’re gettin’.
