This here’s about them EA FC card design, you know, them things for the football game. My grandson, he’s always on about it. Says I should learn, but it’s all a bit much for me, if I’m honest. But I try to keep up, you know? Keep the old brain ticking.
So, these cards, they got the players on ’em, right? Like them old-timey baseball cards, but all fancy and digital. You gotta make ’em look good, I reckon. Shiny and all that. Like when you polish up your best china for company. Gotta catch the eye, you see.
They got these things, EA FC 24 FUT cards, my grandson says. Fancy name, huh? Means somethin’ about football, I think. He says they gotta be based on “real-world data.” Like knowin’ how many cabbages you got in your garden, I guess. You gotta know how good these players are, how fast they run, how hard they kick that ball.
You gotta pick the right colors, too. Bright ones, I reckon. Like a good quilt, you want them colors to pop. Red, blue, yellow, all them. And the pictures, they gotta be clear. Can’t have no blurry messes. Like tryin’ to see through a foggy window, ain’t no good to nobody.
My grandson, he uses this thing on his computer. A FIFA 25 Card Creator. It was called some thing else before but they changed the name. Makes these cards. You can pick all the bits and pieces, put ’em together like a puzzle. He showed me once. Too many buttons for me, but he seems to know what he’s doing.
I asked him why he spends so much time on these card designs. He said it’s fun. Like knittin’ a sweater, I suppose. You get to make somethin’ with your own two hands, even if it’s just on a screen. And he likes to show ’em off to his friends. Braggin’ rights, you know how it is.
He says you gotta make the cards “stand out.” Like puttin’ a scarecrow in your cornfield. Gotta be different, gotta be special. So folks will notice ’em. Else they just blend in with all the others, like a bunch of crows in a field.
- Gotta have good pictures.
- Gotta have bright colors.
- Gotta have all the right numbers, my grandson says.
- These numbers, they show how good the players are.
He keeps goin’ on about this “EA FC” thing. It’s the new name, he says. Like when Farmer Johnson changed the name of his cow from Bessie to Buttercup. Still the same cow, just a different name. So it’s like that, this game, it was called one thing, now it’s called another. But it’s still about kickin’ that ball around.
Now, I may not understand all this computer stuff. But I know a thing or two about makin’ things look nice. You gotta put some care into it. Like bakin’ a pie, you can’t just throw everything in the bowl and hope for the best. You gotta measure it out, make sure it’s all just right.
And these cards, they’re like little pieces of art, I suppose. Each one different, each one tellin’ a story. A story about a football player, how good he is, what team he plays for. It’s all there, on that little card.
My grandson, he likes to design cards for players who ain’t even real. He makes ’em up. Gives ’em names and everything. Like when we used to play pretend when I was a little girl. We’d make up whole worlds, just in our heads.
He says it is about creating your own card designs. It is like a game inside a game. Make-believe. These kids, they are always doing something, I tell ya.
Sometimes, he’ll ask me what I think of his EA FC card designs. I’ll tell him they look nice, even if I don’t really understand what I’m lookin’ at. He gets a big smile on his face when I say that. Makes an old lady feel good, you know?
So, that’s what I know about these EA FC card design things. Not much, but it’s somethin’. It’s a way for my grandson to use his imagination, I guess. And that’s a good thing, no matter how old you are. Gotta keep that spark alive, you know? Like a fire in the hearth on a cold winter’s night. Keeps you warm, keeps you goin’.
Maybe one day I’ll learn how to make one of these cards myself. Then my grandson and I can make ’em together. That’d be somethin’, wouldn’t it? An old lady like me, makin’ fancy digital football cards. Life’s full of surprises, ain’t it?
But for now, I’ll just stick to my garden and my knitting. That’s enough for me. But I’ll keep an eye on what he’s doin’, and I’ll keep listenin’ when he talks about his EA FC 24 FUT cards and his FIFA 25 Card Creator. You never know what you might learn, even at my age.
This whole EA FC card design thing is sure a lot more complicated than it looks like.
