Oh, honey, you wanna know ’bout them sea critters in that Animal Crossing game, huh? The one in February? Well, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout it. They say there’s a whole bunch of ’em you can catch. They call it Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I don’t play it myself, too much for this old brain, but I hear things.
So, in February, you gotta swim around in that there ocean, and you’ll see bubbles. Lots of bubbles. Just like when my old man used to take a bath after a long day in the fields. You gotta swim over to them bubbles. Then you press some button, I think it is “Y,” and you dive down. Just like divin’ for clams, ‘cept no mud. You come back up with a sea creature. Ain’t that somethin’?

Sometimes, them little critters, they swim away fast, like a greased piglet at the county fair. But you can keep swimmin’ underwater. Tap “A”, tap “A”, and you might just catch ’em. Gotta be quick, though. Like snatchin’ the last piece of pie at a church social. You get right over the shadow and press “A” again and you got it. Good for you!
I hear tell there’s like 40 of them sea creatures in this here New Horizons game. That’s a whole heap! More than them bugs my grandson used to collect in jars, that’s for sure. And they ain’t fish, neither. They’re somethin’ different. Like how a chicken ain’t a duck, even though they both got feathers.
Now, some of these creatures, they only come around in February. Like them snowbirds that come down to Florida, then fly back north when it gets hot. So if you want ’em all, you gotta catch ’em while you can. Time waits for no one, not even for a gamer. My old bones know that all too well.
They say each of these critters has a different price. Some is cheap as dirt, some more than others. And they all got their own special spots where they like to hang out. Like how old Mr. Henderson always sits on the same bench in front of the general store. You gotta figure out where they like to be, these February sea creatures.
I don’t know all their names, mind you. But I hear there’s some fancy ones. One time, little Timmy down the road, he was braggin’ about some kinda fancy sea creature he caught. Said it was worth a whole bunch of bells. That’s what they call money in that game, I reckon. Don’t ask me why.
