Well, let me tell ya, this here MLB The Show 24, it ain’t what it used to be. I been tryin’ to get my grandson a better team, ya know? He’s stuck with some team no one ever heard of, bless his heart. So, I figured, I’d just do a little request trade, swap him out for someone better. But it ain’t that easy, not one bit.
They say you can’t do it like before. Used to be, you could just tell your agent, “Hey, I’m tired of this here team, get me outta here!” But now? Now you gotta just play and play and play, and hope someone notices ya. It’s a real pain in the neck. Why can’t they just let us request trade MLB The Show 24 like the good old days?

My grandson, he’s a good boy, but he ain’t got all day to be playin’ this game. He’s got chores to do, cows to milk, you know how it is. We just want him on a team where folks recognize his talent. He can hit that ball clean over the fence, I tell ya! But no one seems to care in this game. He just plays well and hopes for the best, I reckon.
- First thing you gotta do is play good.
- Hit that ball far as you can.
- Pitch like your life depends on it.
- Don’t go swingin’ at every ball, be smart about it.
They say you gotta play good to get noticed. The better you play, the more they’ll like ya. But even that don’t always work. You gotta hit the ball, you gotta strike folks out, you gotta do all that fancy stuff. And sometimes, on your days off, you gotta go practice some more. Like at the Batting Cage or that Bullpen thing. It’s a lot of work just to trade request. Back in my day, things were simpler, ya know?
And even if you do all that, ain’t no guarantee you’ll get traded. They got this thing, somethin’ about “trade odds.” You gotta make those odds higher, whatever that means. I swear, these young folks and their fancy terms. Just tell me how to get my boy on a better team!
I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout somethin’ called “Force Trades.” Sounds like cheatin’ to me, but maybe that’s the only way. You gotta go into some settin’s menu, somethin’ called “Franchise mode” and turn it on. Then you can just make the trade happen. Seems like a lot of rigmarole if you ask me. And what’s this “Playbite” thing they talk about? Sounds like another one of them newfangled things.
It’s just frustratin’, ya know? You’d think they’d make it easier to switch teams. My grandson just wants to play for a team he likes. Is that too much to ask? This MLB The Show 24 trade request thing is a real headache. I just hope he finally gets to play for a better team. It ain’t right to be stuck on a team no one likes. You are supposed to be able to make them want you. You wanna be on a team you want, you know?
I remember one time, back when I was a girl, we were playin’ ball in the field. And one of the boys, he wanted to be on the other team, so he just switched! Just like that. No fuss, no bother. Why can’t this game be like that? It’s all so complicated now. Even playin’ a game is hard work these days. And trades are definitely a pain. When I go in and try to swap people it says the other team wants the guy, but then it doesn’t happen. And then I try the same thing again, and it still does not go. I saw on the web that someone said they saw a thing where their team was in first place in April. That is just not right. And they were talkin’ about bugs and glitches, and one guy couldn’t even shave with his eyes closed in the game. That is just silly.
I just wanna do right by my grandson, and this here game is makin’ it mighty hard. He keeps telling me maybe things will get better if he keeps playing, but I don’t know. They should just bring back that request trade option. Make things simple again. Ain’t nobody got time for all this mess. Why can’t they understand that? They used to have a way to tell your agent you were sad with your team and wanted a new one. But not anymore. Doesn’t matter what position you are in the game, doing good makes your rating go up, all the way up to 50, if you can believe that. It is like they just want to make things as hard as they can.
This game is just too complicated for an old gal like me. I think I’ll just stick to watchin’ the real games on TV. At least those make sense. I hope my grandson will finally be on a good team soon. He wants to be traded, and it looks like maybe it will finally happen. It is about time.
