Well, lemme tell ya, this here MLB The Show 23 game, it ain’t like the old days. Used to be, you just played ball. Now, you gotta worry ’bout agents and all that fancy stuff. But I figured it out, kinda, so I’ll tell ya how to do it, best I can.
So, you wanna call your agent in this here MLB The Show 23. They say it’s easy. I don’t know ’bout that, but you gotta do it if you wanna get anywhere in this game. This here game, it’s all about movin’ up in that Road to the Show thing. That’s what they call it, RTTS. Sounds silly to me, but that’s what it is. And you gotta talk to your agent to get on up there, I reckon.
Now, I ain’t no expert, but I been messin’ around with this thing. First thing you gotta do, they say, is find the “Player” tab. It’s on that main menu, the first thing you see when you start the game up. I had to poke around a bit to find it, but it’s there. Then you gotta find somethin’ called “Brand Management” or maybe it’s “Agent Interaction.” Somethin’ like that. One of them two, I reckon.
Click on that, and that’s how you get to call your agent, I think. It ain’t like callin’ on the telephone, though. It’s all done right there in the game. Technology these days, I swear.
But here is the important thing. You can not call your agent in MLB The Show 23 directly. I know, I know, it make no sense. But I try many time, and I think the game just do not let you do it. So you have to find some other way to talk to him. I think they call it not-so-direct communication.
They say you gotta go to “My Ballplayer” this time. That’s another thing on that main menu. Then you gotta click on “Interactions.” Sounds like a whole lotta nothin’ to me, but that’s what they call it. And then, you can talk to your agent. ‘Bout time, I say!
You can talk about your, what do they call it, “career goals.” And “endorsements.” That’s like when someone pays ya to wear their shoes or somethin’. And other stuff, too, I guess. I ain’t too sure ’bout all that.
There’s another way, too, I think. They say you can go to “My Player” and then “Agent Interactions.” Sounds like the same thing to me, but I guess it’s a little different. They say it’s simple and quick. Maybe it is for them young folks, but it took me a while to figure it all out.
Here’s another thing, you gotta play good, right? You need to try your best. I know that seem obvious, but some people, they just do not try hard. You gotta be, what they say, a “passive hitter”. I do not know what that mean exactly, but I think it mean you gotta watch the ball good.
- First, you wait, you watch the first pitch.
- Then you watch the second pitch.
- Then, maybe, you swing.
- It is like you are waiting for the perfect time.
This whole agent thing, it’s a big deal in this game. You gotta do what he says, mostly. He’s the one who knows how to get you to the big leagues, they say. I don’t know ’bout all that, but I guess he knows somethin’.
Now, this here game, it ain’t just about playin’ ball no more. It’s about business, too. It’s a shame, really. But I guess that’s the way things are now. You gotta play the game, both on the field and off, I reckon.
One more thing they say, you gotta be careful who you talk to. Don’t be talkin’ to just anybody. They say your agent, he ain’t like one of them Hollywood guys in a fancy suit. They say you can find him right in the game, in one of them “tabs.” It is all very confusing.
This MLB The Show 23, it’s a whole different world, ain’t it? It ain’t like the old days, that’s for sure. But I guess we gotta learn to live with it. Just like them newfangled tractors, we gotta learn how to use ’em, even if we don’t like ’em.
Anyways, I hope this helps ya some. It ain’t easy, this callin’ your agent business. But if you keep at it, you’ll figure it out. Just like I did. Well, kinda. I still ain’t sure ’bout some of it. But I’m gettin’ there. And remember, this MLB The Show 23, it is just a game. So do not get too worry about it. Just have some fun. And play some ball!
