TFT, that game my grandson plays all day. He keeps talking about this “Portal” thing. What is this “Portal trait”? Sounds like some magic stuff to me. He says it’s important to get gold in that game. More gold, more money at the end of the round. Winning gives you more gold, sure. But he also says having more than 30 gold thingies just sitting there can be good. Helps you win. Kids these days…
So this Portal thing, my grandson, he plays it a lot. Says it is a strong comp, whatever that means. But, he also says if you ain’t got the good stuff to go with it, like items and these “augments”, it won’t do much good. Like, you need the right tools for the job, you know? Can’t just have a hammer and expect to build a whole house. You need the wood, the nails, all that stuff. He said my team was bad. I don’t know, I thought those little guys looked tough.

He was going on and on about how this Portal thing is real strong if you get it early on. Like planting seeds in the spring, I reckon. Gotta get them in the ground early so they can grow big and strong. He says this Portal, it’s random, like the weather. But it can really help you out in a fight. Sometimes it throws bombs at the bad guys. Boom! Just like that. That sounds kinda fun, I guess.
That boy, he’s always looking at these fancy websites. He showed me one the other day, all about this TFT game. Said it had all the best ways to play this Portal thing. They used some big words, like “database” and “algorithms.” I just nodded along. Sounds like a lot of work to me. Back in my day, we just played with what we had. Didn’t need no fancy computer to tell us what to do.
I still don’t really get what a “Portal” is. Is it like a door? Do the little guys jump through it? My grandson tried to explain, but he talks so fast. All these newfangled terms. Makes my head spin. But he seems to enjoy it, and that’s what matters, I suppose. Keeps him out of trouble. Better than running around outside getting into mischief.
This TFT thing is sure different. Lots of things to keep track of. Gold, items, these Portal things. It’s a lot to take in. You gotta choose which little guys to use. And then you gotta give them the right stuff. It’s like dressing up for church. You gotta pick the right outfit. And then you gotta make sure you got your shoes, your hat, all that. It’s a whole process.
My grandson, he’s good at it though. He wins a lot. I guess he’s got a good head for these things. Me, I’d rather be out in the garden. Planting my tomatoes. That’s something I understand. You put a seed in the ground, you water it, you give it some sunshine, and boom, you got yourself a tomato. No need for any portals or algorithms.
Here’s what I think about this TFT Portal trait:
- It’s like a lucky charm. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it don’t.
- You gotta get it early, like planting seeds in the spring.
- It can throw bombs at the bad guys. That’s kinda cool, I guess.
- You need other good stuff to make it work. Like having a good hoe to till the soil.
- My grandson likes it, so I guess it’s alright.
Maybe one of these days, I’ll sit down and have him really explain it to me. But for now, I’m gonna stick to what I know. Gardening, cooking, taking care of my chickens. That’s enough for me. Don’t need no fancy computer games. But hey, if it makes the young’uns happy, then I guess it’s alright. Just don’t ask me to play it. I got better things to do, like watching my stories on TV and making sure those darn squirrels stay out of my bird feeder. This Portal thing is too much for this old brain to handle. I just hope my grandson doesn’t spend all his money on those gold thingies in the game.
From what I can tell, this Portal trait in TFT is a big deal. Kids these days, they love their games. And this one seems to have a lot to it. Lots of strategy, lots of things to think about. It’s a whole different world from when I was a girl. We played hopscotch and jump rope. Now it’s all about computers and these “Portals.” Time sure does fly. But as long as they’re having fun, that’s all that matters.
This Portal trait, it’s like a whole other language. I don’t understand half the things my grandson says about it. But I try to listen. I try to keep up. It’s important to stay connected to the younger generation, even if you don’t always understand what they’re talking about. It’s like when my neighbor’s cow got loose. It was a whole mess, running all over the place. We didn’t know what to do. But we all worked together, and we finally got it back in the pasture. Teamwork makes the dream work, as they say. And having good items and augments for your Portal trait? I reckon that is like having a good, strong fence to keep that cow in place. It just makes sense. If you don’t got a good fence, that cow’s gonna get out again. You gotta be prepared.
