Hey, I tell ya, this F1 23 Azerbaijan setup, it’s a bit tricky, ya know. This Baku track, it got them long straights, then them sharp 90-degree corners that just sneak up on ya. If you don’t get your setup right, you’ll be spinning like a chicken on a spit! Now, lemme tell ya how to handle it, but don’t expect no fancy talk, just plain ol’ advice to get ya through the race.
First off, them wings. Now, if you’re looking to go fast on them straights—and trust me, them Baku straights are looong—ya gotta lower them front and rear wing angles. Not too much though, or you’ll be sliding all over the place in the corners. For them fast laps, like in qualifying, ya might wanna bump up the front wing angle just a bit. It gives you a bit more grip, makes the car stick in them sharp turns, but keep it low for the race so you can zoom through them straights.

The brakes, oh the brakes! Ya gotta start braking just a touch earlier than you’d think. This ain’t like them other tracks, you gotta be careful here. I’d say set the brake bias to around 58%, that seems to do the trick. The car feels more steady when you hit them brakes, and ya don’t end up kissing the walls, which happens more often than ya think on them tight streets.
Now, suspension. The streets in Baku, they ain’t smooth like a baby’s bottom, nah. You need to soften up the suspension a bit, make the car bounce less when you go over them bumps. Too stiff and you’ll be feeling every pebble on the road! But don’t make it too soft neither, or you’ll lose control in them fast corners. A nice balance here will keep the car comfy, but also ready to handle them quick shifts in direction.
- Transmission: I’d say, keep your differential lower on corner entry so the car don’t fight you too much when turning in. But on the exit, crank it up a bit, so you can power out of the corners and hit them straights like a rocket.
- Tyres: Now, watch out for tyre wear. Baku’s tough on tyres with all them stop-and-go moments. So, you need to keep an eye on ’em. Don’t push too hard early on or you’ll be sliding by the time the race is half done.
- Gears: With them long straights, make sure you adjust the gearing so you hit top speed without bouncing off the limiter too early. Stretch them gears out so you got power for the straights but still control for them tricky corners.
Now, I ain’t no expert like them fellas on TV, but I’ll tell ya what works. In Baku, it’s all about finding that balance. Too much downforce and you’ll be slow as a turtle on them straights, too little and you’ll be sliding like a pig on ice in them corners. Ya just gotta get it right. Try these tips and I reckon you’ll do just fine, but don’t come crying to me if ya crash into a wall or something. It happens, Baku ain’t no joke!
