Well now, if yer ship’s stuck out there in Sea of Thieves, don’t go panicking like a chicken that’s lost its way home. There’s a few things ye can try to get it loose, even if yer boat’s sittin’ there like a stubborn old mule. First thing’s first, take a deep breath and let’s start with the basics.
1. Raise the Anchor and Lift the Sails

If yer ship’s stuck, the first thing to do is make sure yer anchor’s up and them sails are nice and high. Sometimes, just gettin’ the sails up will give yer ship a bit of wiggle room, and maybe she’ll start movin’ again. If she’s still stuck, try turning the wheel and givin’ her a bit of a nudge. Don’t expect her to move fast—ships like to take their time, ya know. But if yer patient, she might just break free.
2. Try Rockin’ the Boat Back and Forth
Sometimes, ships get stuck on rocks or trees or some other stubborn thing in the water. One trick ye can try is movin’ the ship back and forth a bit, like rockin’ a chair. Just raise the sails, pull up the anchor, and give the wheel a turn back and forth. A little push and pull might loosen yer ship enough to get her outta that tight spot.
3. Get Drunk and Hope for the Best
I know it sounds a bit strange, but sometimes when yer character’s stuck real good, the best thing to do is drink. Yep, grab a tankard of grog and drink up. Now, don’t ask me why, but it’s worked for me a couple of times. Seems like gettin’ good and drunk makes the game think ye should be somewhere else, and bam, yer back on yer ship! It’s a bit silly, but it don’t hurt to try, right?
4. Scuttlin’ Yer Ship
If all else fails and yer really stuck in a bad spot, ye can always scuttle yer ship. Now, scuttlin’ means sinkin’ yer own ship, and once it’s done, she’ll respawn at a random island. It’s a good option if yer ship’s in a spot where no matter what ye do, she ain’t comin’ loose. But remember, all crew members gotta agree to it. It’s a bit drastic, but if yer in a pinch, it might be yer best bet.
5. Kill Yerself to Respawn
Now, I know it sounds odd, but sometimes the quickest way out of a sticky situation is to just die. That’s right, if yer character’s stuck and there ain’t no other way out, ye can kill yerself. It’s the quickest way to respawn back on the ship. There ain’t no fancy suicide button like some other games, but if ye take a dive off a cliff or into the water, ye can respawn where yer ship is. Might save yer day, so don’t be afraid to make that sacrifice!
6. Reverse Yer Ship

Last but not least, ye can always try raisin’ yer sails and anchor again and see if ye can back that ship out. Sometimes all she needs is a little bit of backward motion to get loose from whatever’s holdin’ her. It’s a simple move, but it works more often than ye’d think.
So, there ye have it, a few ways to get yer ship unstuck in Sea of Thieves. Sometimes she’ll come loose with just a bit of effort, and other times ye gotta get creative. Don’t lose yer head, and keep tryin’ till ye get back on the move. Happy sailin’ to ye!
