Well, let me tell ya, there’s been a lotta talk about this here “MLB The Show 24” and all this crossplay stuff. People askin’ if they can play with their friends, no matter what kinda console they got. And I reckon it’s good news for all, ‘cause yes, it’s true. All consoles now support crossplay in the latest game, from the PS5 right down to the old PS4, and even those Xbox ones like the Series X|S and the old Xbox One. So, if yer sittin’ there thinkin’ you can’t play with your friend who’s got a different system, well, think again!
This crossplay thing, it means you can play against, or even with, folks no matter what they’re playin’ on. Ya don’t gotta be stuck just with folks who got the same box as you. It’s a big deal, see, ‘cause in the old days, you’d be limited to just yer own system, and that was that. But now? Nah, the game’s open to all. Don’t matter if ya got a PlayStation or an Xbox. That’s right, you can have a good ol’ time playin’ with anyone, anywhere, and on any of those fancy machines.

Now, some of ya might be wonderin’ ‘bout that cross-progression business. What’s that mean, you ask? Well, it’s real simple. Let’s say you play on yer PS5 for a bit, and then, for some reason, ya gotta switch over to yer old PS4 or Xbox. Well, don’t worry, all yer progress will follow ya! All yer stats, all the things ya earned, they’ll be there waitin’ for ya, no matter where ya go. That’s what cross-progression does for ya. Makes sure all yer hard work don’t go to waste just ‘cause ya switch consoles. All ya gotta do is sign in with yer account, and bam, yer ready to go again.
One thing though, and I gotta say this, it’s that there ain’t no year-to-year save carryin’ over. If ya think yer save file from last year’s game is gonna work in the new one, well, think again. You’ll be startin’ fresh in MLB The Show 24. But don’t let that get ya down, it’s still a good game, and there’s plenty to enjoy!
Now, if ya like playin’ with others, you’ll be pleased to hear that you can do that too. There’s couch co-op, where you can team up with someone sittin’ next to ya, or if you want a bit more competition, there’s the online co-op modes, where you can play against other folks. You and a friend can take on two other folks in a 2v2 match or maybe even go for a 3v3 match. Doesn’t matter how you do it, you’re gonna have a good time.
And the good news don’t stop there. You also got things like Diamond Dynasty, where you can build your team, and even draft new players. If you’re smart about it, you’ll get some rewards, stubs, and XP along the way. So, there’s plenty to keep ya busy when it comes to multiplayer modes.
Overall, I’d say it’s a mighty fine game this year, especially with all the crossplay and cross-progression. You don’t gotta worry about what system yer buddies got. As long as they got one of them fancy machines, you’re good to go. So, get out there and start playin’ – whether you’re on PS5, PS4, Xbox, or whichever – it’s all open for ya!
