Well, folks, if you were hopin’ to demand a trade in MLB The Show 24, I got some bad news for ya. It ain’t like it used to be in them older games where you could just call up your agent and tell ’em you was unhappy with your team and ask for a change. Nah, they done gone and removed that option, and now you gotta go about things a different way if you want a trade to happen. Some folks ain’t too happy about it, and I can see why.
In the older versions of MLB The Show, it was real simple. You’d be playin’, doin’ your thing, and if you didn’t like how things was goin’ with your team, you could just have a little chat with your agent and tell ’em you wanted to get traded. But now, in MLB The Show 24, that’s all gone. Now, you can’t demand a trade, not directly anyhow. They took that right outta the game, and there ain’t no way to do it like you used to.

So, if you’re hopin’ to change teams, you got to be a little more patient now. One way to maybe get traded is by messin’ around with the game settings. There’s a thing in the settings called “Trade Frequency.” If you turn that slider up, it increases the chance that you might get traded. But here’s the kicker – you ain’t gonna get to pick where you go. It’s all random, so you gotta take what the game gives ya.
But hold up a second. Just because you turn up that slider don’t mean you’re gonna get traded right away. You gotta be real good at what you do in the game, too. If you ain’t performin’ well and your stats ain’t up to snuff, your agent ain’t gonna have much to work with. If you’re sittin’ at the bottom of the stats pile, your agent’s gonna tell ya that you ain’t got no leverage to demand a trade. He’ll tell ya that you’re stuck where you are ’til you can prove yourself and level up.
The key to gettin’ that trade is to work on your stats. Once you level up and make your player better, then your agent’s gonna start listenin’ to you more when you bring up the idea of a trade. But even then, it’s not a guarantee. Your agent still might tell ya that you’re stuck, but at least you’ll have a little more pull when you ask for it. So, grind it out and make yourself better, and maybe, just maybe, a trade might happen for you.
Now, if you’re really serious about gettin’ traded, the best thing you can do is just be patient and let the game handle it. You don’t get to choose where you go, but if you keep your nose clean and work on your game, eventually, the trade might come your way. I know it ain’t ideal, but that’s the way it works now in MLB The Show 24.
Some players are real mad about this change, and I get it. A lot of folks liked being able to ask for a trade whenever they felt like it, but with this new setup, you can’t really do that. You gotta wait for the right opportunity to come along. It’s just one of them things you gotta live with if you’re playin’ the game.
In case you’re wonderin’, there are still other ways to make your player stronger and get noticed. If you’re into Diamond Dynasty, you can buy perks from the Marketplace to help your player improve. These perks can give you boosts in different areas, and some folks swear by them. But again, none of this guarantees a trade, so you gotta be patient and keep workin’ on your game.
So, that’s the long and short of it. You can’t just demand a trade like you used to. It’s all about patience, your stats, and turning up that “Trade Frequency” slider. You might get lucky and get traded, but don’t expect it to happen right away. You gotta work for it, just like you gotta work for everything else in life.
