Okay, so I’ve been grinding Valorant lately, especially with the new Episode 7 Act 3 kicking off. And the biggest thing everyone’s talking about? The map rotation. I decided to really dig in and figure out the best way to approach this new setup.
First thing I did was jump into a few unrated matches. Gotta get a feel for the maps, right? I wanted to see which ones were in the current rotation and which ones I needed to brush up on. It’s all about adapting, you know?

My Warm-Up Routine
- Custom Game: Before anything else, I loaded up a custom game on each of the maps in rotation. Just me, myself, and I.
- Running the Angles: I spent a good chunk of time just running around, getting a feel for the common angles, peeking spots, and potential lurk routes.
- Agent-Specific Practice: I picked my main agents (shoutout to my fellow Reyna mains!) and practiced their specific util on each map. Where can I flash effectively? Where are the best spots to drop a smoke? That kind of thing.
Then, I moved into some real matches, started with unrated as a safe, and then go to a ranked match!
I paid close attention to how my teammates and enemies were playing. Where were they holding? What strategies were they using? You can learn a ton just by observing.
Also I found some new tactics that I did not notice before, that is interesting, I think I can use them in future matches. I believe practicing makes improvement!
It’s all about repetition and getting those reps in. The more you play, the better you’ll understand the maps and how to play them effectively. Keep grinding, keep learning, and you’ll climb that ranked ladder in no time!
