Alright, guys, so I wanted to get better at throwing touch passes in Madden 24. I’d seen some pros do it, and it looked like a great way to get the ball over a linebacker but still lead my receiver. So, I hopped into practice mode to figure this thing out.
Experimenting with Button Presses
First, I just started messing around with the controller. I tried double-tapping the receiver button – nothing special happened. Then I held the button down – that just seemed to trigger a bullet pass, which is way too hard and fast for what I wanted.
Finally, I tried just lightly tapping the receiver button. And boom! There it was, a nice, floaty touch pass. It arced perfectly over the defender’s head and landed right in my receiver’s hands. I was like, “Okay, this is it!”
Practicing the Timing
So, knowing the basic button press was only half the battle. I spent a good chunk of time just practicing the timing. It’s all about that quick tap – not too long, not too short. You gotta find that sweet spot.
- I started by throwing to stationary receivers, just to get the feel of the button press down.
- lightly tapping : I focused on the timing about tap.
- Then I moved on to throwing to receivers on different routes, some short, some deep, some across the middle.
Putting it All Together
Once I felt like I had a decent handle on the touch pass, I jumped into a few exhibition games. It definitely took some getting used to in a live game situation, with defenders rushing and everything. But, man, when you connect on one of those touch passes, it’s so satisfying. You just drop it right in there where only your guy can get it.
So, yeah, that’s my journey to learning the touch pass in Madden 24. It’s all about that light tap, and then lots and lots of practice. Keep grinding, and you’ll be dropping dimes in no time!
