Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into Pokemon Go lately, and I gotta say, Gardevoir is a BEAST. I wanted to share my experience figuring out the best moveset for my shiny Gardevoir, because, let’s be real, that’s important.
My Journey to the Perfect Moveset
First, I caught a bunch of Ralts. Like, a LOT. I was on a mission to find one with great IVs (those hidden stats that make a Pokemon stronger). I used, you know, those online IV checkers, and also checked the in-game appraisal to look for the very best stats. Then, I used a bunch of candy to evolve one of those Ralts to get that amazing Gardevoir.

Initially, I was just messing around with different moves. I went with my Gardevoir had, but it didn’t do so good in battles. I tried battling a few times in raids and against Team Rocket, but felt my Gardevoir was not performing as well as it could.
So, I decided I have to fix this. I hit up some Pokemon Go forums and groups. It took some reading, but I finally got the popular opinion about Gardevoir’s movesets.
The Winning Combination (For Me!)
Fast Move:
- Charm – Everyone seemed to agree that Charm is the go-to fast move. It hits hard, even against Pokemon that resist Fairy-type attacks. It does have slow energy gain, but does amazing damage.
Charged Moves:
- Shadow Ball. Gives some much-needed coverage against those pesky Ghost and Psychic-types that would otherwise wall Gardevoir.
- Psychic – I went with Psychic as my second charged move. It’s a powerful STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) move, meaning Gardevoir gets extra damage because it’s a Psychic-type move.
And it turns out, the internet did not lie, this made my Gardevoir much stronger! It completely changed the battle.
Putting It to the Test
I started using this moveset in raids, and wow, what a difference! Gardevoir was tearing through those Dragon-types like they were nothing. I even started using it in PvP battles, and it’s been holding its own pretty well. Rocket grunts? No problem. My Gardevoir became my go-to Pokemon for a lot of situations.
I tried a few other charged moves, like Dazzling Gleam, but for my playstyle, Psychic and Shadow Ball felt like the best combo. My advice? Experiment a little and find what works best for you and your battles!
So, yeah, that’s my Gardevoir moveset story. I’m still learning and tweaking things, but this setup has definitely been a game-changer for me. Hope this helps some of you fellow trainers out there!
