Alright, guys, so I’ve been getting tons of questions about Heracross in Pokémon GO. It’s a regional exclusive, which means it only spawns in certain parts of the world, and that makes it tricky to catch. I wanted to actually show you my experience hunting for this bug, so here’s how it went down.
The Hunt Begins
First, I had to figure out where the heck this thing even shows up. It is known that it is in South America, Central America, Florida, and Texas. That’s a pretty big area! I couldn’t just hop on a plane to, you know, everywhere. So, I had planned a vacation for unrelated reasons down to southern Florida.

Boots on the Ground
I made it my primary goal to find this bug, and I started my hunt.
- Day 1: Nothing. I walked around like crazy, used a bunch of Incense, and even hung out at some PokéStops with Lures. Zilch. I was starting to think the maps were wrong!
- Day 2: Still nothing in the morning. I was getting a little discouraged, I’m not gonna lie. Then, in the afternoon, I decided to try a park near the coast. And BAM! There it was! A Heracross, just chilling on my screen.
The Catch
I almost dropped my phone, I was so excited. I used a Razz Berry, because, you know, gotta be careful. Then I threw an Ultra Ball with a curveball – my best shot. It took three shakes, and…GOT IT! Finally! My very own Heracross.
Wrapping Up
It took some serious dedication, and, admittedly, a bit of luck with the location. But finding a regional exclusive like Heracross is totally doable. Here are my quick steps to catch it:
- I Identified the Heracross spawn locations: South/Central America, Florida, and Texas.
- I traveled to South Florida.
- I Used incense, lures, and visited high-traffic areas like parks.
- I remained persistent on day 2 when I didn’t find it the first day!
- I Caught it with a Razz Berry and Ultra Ball.
It really just comes down to being in the right place and putting in the time. Keep hunting, trainers!
